So we're half way through the season pretty much , a difficult start to the season made many of us all a bit worried about what was to come ,however the league this year seems almost ultra competitive and we've put together form which might shock people , but also shows its NOT just a phase and is probably just where we are at .

Since losing to Norwich 3-0 , a game I was at and was our 4th defeat in a row to cap off a miserable opening 5 games (1 draw 4 defeats ) We have been pretty much in superb form for 17 matches since .

Won 9 drew 5 lost 3

That's 32 points from 51 , in the last 15 matches we are the leagues 2nd best team only beaten by 4 points (Burnley )

So my question , can we mount a genuine playoff push this season ?

From what I'm watching , we're a bloody good side and I'd have to say you wouldn't bet against us would you

With the resources we have (or distinct lack of) and bollocks we constantly have to endure off the pitch, none more than this season, MR and this team are performing miracles and we are punching above our weight.

January is going to either make or break us. Must not sell. Must invest.

The form indicated above by the OP is astonishing, we’ve added a consistently to our results and it’s been fully deserved. Tonight was a joy to watch, and we can absolutely get into that top 6!

Happy Christmas SBA 💙😍

It's easy to get excited but if we can get to mid February within touching distance still , then I think with the fixtures we can finish strong .

Alot depends ofcourse on January

Hold on to what we have, get Fadz back at some stage, and add a good 2/3 players of decent quality. There's a good chance we can hit the playoffs in that case.

The league is so tight, reminds me kind of the Segunda in Spain. Easy to get carried away after a win but we do have the quality, and an immense management team (other than substitutions). We just need to ensure we are a bit more clinical, and have a bit more mental strength.

In all seriousness too two is probably too far unless one of them falls apart. But no reason at all we can’t make play offs. Then it’s all in the hands of the gods but we’ve won every playoffs we’ve been in 🤷🏻‍♂️

Squad too thin like last season so I think we will miss out. Will also be a miracle if we keep Gyokeres and Hamer.

We are 1 point and 1 place below last year at this point

Last year we had 22 points from the 1st 11 games and 12 from the next 11
This year 7 points from the 1st 10 and 26 from the next 12

We now have belief and our good players are better

The 2 things that may stop us are player sales or any more injuries as we have zero depth

The big difference I feel is that since the Luton game we have tightened up at the back in a way that I could not see happening half way through the match at Kenilworth Road. We looked so shaky in the first half of that game and in all of the opening games with the possible exception of Sunderland away.
I think that the way that we can now keep clean sheets makes us a much more dangerous prospect than last season. The great thing is that this has been achieved without taking away our, at times, scintillating style of football. Since the return of O’Hare from injury and Hamer from suspension we have played some fantastic football.
The QPR performance was the most complete I have seen us play under Robins. The first 60 mins on Saturday and much of the performance tonight wasn’t far behind.
The fact that Robins engineered and started our recovery even before these two returned to the team, playing a more pragmatic style, shows what a genius he is. I am enjoying our football over the past season and a half more than I did most seasons in the top flight.

The difference this season from last is we just might strengthen this time properly, not doing that last season cost us a play-off spot imo.

Best 11 can beat any team in this league, however our subs are useless when it comes to quality, I think currently we will finish outside playoffs but add a few players into the team,
Better LB
Allen type player with quality
And a old head for the back line to replace fadz,

apart from that I think we’re good as long as we don’t lose vik to injury.

Difference is.

Gyokores, Hamer,Ohare,Sheaf,Allen have Improved no end and are better than last year.
Has the fact the Moore brothers (Simon and Bobby Hyam) missing been a coincidence that we've improved defensively?

SISU stay and we add 2 or 3 loan players and keep the quality play offs minimum.
King ratified then real chance automatic promotion.
We sell big vik ,hamer.lower to mid table.

anything’s possible with this great team and management just keep the top ( 7 ) seven , bring in 3-4 players as back up / replacements and who knows? It just might be a fabulous NY .

To be fair to Robins when it comes to substitution time he hasn't got a lot of options other than freshish legs but a lot less quality, although he did say that Palmer wasn't fully fit so why not at times give him more match time, that I don't understand but with the limited resources we have he has got them playing unbelievable football at times and special mention for Hamer who since he came back from his last suspension seems to have got his head right and playing fantastic ....with no bookings too. Saturday I felt deflated last night I felt elated

This squad, unchanged, capable of the playoffs.

Add a bit of depth, capable of making thr top two.

Disrupt the spine of the team, and we'll sink fast.

We're a dodgy result away from some saying the season is over and we're in a relegation battle again.

If we can keep and build on what we already have rather than sell, no reason why we can't challenge the top 6, but we still have a way to go yet
