So what's the expectations for this season (3 Viewers)

Eh? So you've chosen to omit Torp, EMC and Rodriguez?
One of the main reasons we flatlined last season was once Sakamoto got injured we only had MvE and Tavares as viable options . This season we have a lot more

3 players, 2 of which have never played a game at this level? Interesting.

We don’t have a lot more that’s the point. We need at least 3-4 quality signings to have a proper go at top 6.

For the season play offs would be exceptional. This is the Championship. The biggest dogfight there is. Throw in parachute payments and getting top 6 is like pushing water uphill. But I think we’ve recruited well and have big players settled in. I’m hoping for a good run at top 6. For me Robins should never be under pressure - frankly I’m amazed he’s not been poached.

No one wants to say it or even think it but let's be honest

If we bring in the needed striker and decent midfielder, Robins has zero excuse to not get play offs minimum

He's been backed with cash on and off the field for 2.5 years by the end of this season and King will simply ask 'why have you not achieved when you've been given all the tools asked for?'

I see what you've done there, getting ready for the, Taxi for Robins Thread 😁

Think the Championship will be as difficult to be promoted from as in previous years. Lot of the mid table teams from last year have improved and the three relegated teams have the money.
We need some luck, not too many serious injuries and no last minute loss of any of our top players.
The defence has had a year together and need to cut out the mistakes.
If King demands we try to win the cups, that may hinder us.
I hope for top 6 and feel that is achievable

Top 6 should be realistic. If we start well and concede less sloppy goals it would be nice to think we could be in the fight for autos. But it will be a big ask.

If the season started tomorrow with the squad as we know it now easy top 10, outside chances of top 6. O just want our signings to make an impact and for us to get a good start.

No we don't , ridiculous comment
We finished 8th last season and have improved since then

After finishing 5th the season before?

And yes we do, or we're only a couple injuries away from what you called "flatlining".
EMC and Raphael have never played at this level. Get a grip and realise they're probably not going to tear the league apart.

I'll willingly have a bet with you that EMC does ?

That would be an interesting one to try and settle!

Measuring whether we finished in the top 6 - fair enough.
Measuring 'he tore the league apart' 'No, he didn't' would need some interesting arbitration !!

We are stronger so you’d hope we can make top 6.

That said bookies have us joint 6th favs, and the teams in and around us are similar.
Realistically I could see anywhere from 3rd-9th.
Are we actually stronger though, we've signed Binks, who was here last season, Rudoni to replace O'Hare, some kid from Australia and EMC, at the moment we have a fully fit squad, so we probably are, just

If we fail to make the top 6 this upcoming season and then are midtable around the Christmas the following season, he’d be under a lot of pressure from King.

He absolutely should be under pressure if we’re actually looking to get promoted.

And we have Sakamoto available - so it feels stronger as a result (plus I suspect our forward depth will feel stronger by the end of the window)

A lot blame the defence for the end of season collapse but it was as much the lack of depth in forward areas that was exposed once Sakamoto got injured that cost us

Top 6, expect to be there all season with the options and squad we have. Possibly a push for autos with a couple more signings.

Would like to see some fast attacking football and a few convincing wins along the way.

I'd say we are ever so slightly stronger but desperately need at least another striker. We'd be screwed with a long-term injury to Simms.

Top 6 perhaps even autos.
Mind you ive always been an eternal optimist.
I've never been an optimist about this club which tells me something about the people who still stink the place out with negativity. This is an exciting time, you are allowed to enjoy it.

Personally I'd only swap our playing squad with Burnleys and Leeds. I don't expect that opinion to change too much by the start of the season.

Much stronger than last season as it stands.

Started last year with no O’Hare, no Torp, Saka, Wright and Simms not yet found their groove, then Hamer fucked off and wasn’t replaced, no clear number one.

This year the vast majority should be ready to go from day one, with maybe one or two that need integrating as the season starts. If we can take the form we had when Saka was fit right from the start we’ll be laughing.
