Forgive my stupidity but if it goes to a PPG basis where does that put us in league standings
The monetary numbers involved in Football will not influence what the virus does, but the numbers
of infections, Deaths and available hospital beds will influence what Football does.
some of the ideas non contact in penalty areas will ruin the game
Forgive my stupidity but if it goes to a PPG basis where does that put us in league standings
As the FA sit today to formulate yet more plans, we are still no further ahead on getting any certainty for clubs. Apparently they have put a date for a decision by late May.
I find it incredulous that they continue to bury their heads in the sand while european leagues have either declared finished, as in France with champions appointed, or in the netherlands where they voided the season - alarmingly.
Common sense must prevail. End the season now, promote and have no relegations. Playoffs are also a no no. So a little more unjustly perhaps for some, promote the 3rd placed team instead of any playoffs. PPG must be used for final standings in the league. (we would be champions)
Then and only then certainty for clubs, and their plans can go forward. The new season will start when it is safe to do so, be it September, October or even January.
Trying to bring teams together and all the logistics, players and people involved to try and play games any time soon is pure folly.
You've named 2 leagues who have concluded (Belgium also look likely to cancel their league the decision is just waiting confirmation), but Spain, Germany and Italy are all about to return to training and aim to get their league's completed.
I don't understand the rush to call time on this season.
We have no control over what other countries decide. I merely point out decisions taken by two other countries that were diametrically opposed. What we do is another matter.
There are so many factors you have to consider, which is why what we decide in this country matters.
In Holland players and staff can travel to away games without the need for an overnight stay in a hotel. In England for example Plymouth v Carlisle and many others, its another ball game. That's just one problem never mind the others. Decision makers in other countries who may go ahead will have to stand by their decisions.
And of course there is some certainty if the season is called now, regardless of when the new one starts. Player contracts, transfer windows, finances in place, getting the promotion pay out (which city need) and so on and so on.
Never in a million years would they be allowed to play there with the state of the pitch.sounds like season over based on the PL plans - could not arrange neutral grounds for the whole EFL - otherwise may as well use all grounds
lets hope that
1. They promote us anyway
2. Wasps dont let them play at the ricoh (wouldnt put it past them)
