To be clear, I'm not in favour of Mowbray getting the chop - in fact, part of the reason for this is the potential replacements. Had a think about it overnight and the best I could come up with was

He knows football inside out and yes were in a very bad patch but it takes time to build a club.look what he has had to use some of the budget on. Training ground revamp...painting of team bus....etc next season he will hopefully just invest in the squad. Also his player database for scouted players should be alot more fruitfull as that was starting from scratch. I am sure wherever we end up this season next season will be better. This season is far from over and lets be honest if we had been offered a mid table finish this year we would have took it after previous seasons. Stick with TM he will sort us out.In TM i trust

Agreed - I say this every time we sack a manager, and everyone ignores me as we (usually) have a brief bounce, then they forget the average of 1 manager per year in the last however many years...then it's "sack him" when the next one struggles.

To be fair he's not on big money - just contracted to the end of next season. He isn't here for the money, I can tell you that, so it wouldn't be of Boothroyd / Coleman / Dowie / Pressley proportions.

I put this in the Mowbray thread :
Mowbray is still the man for me but he's gotta change his team selections and style of play. Look at LVG, his philosophy did him no favours at all! We need to change, mix it up just to end the season on a better note and form to take forward.
If TM should stay beyond this season and go for another then his recruitment really has to be spot on. Less loans, and players with experience. No has been players, just players who we can put a good base down for for 2/3 seasons.
Like he's quoted as saying "men variably get the job done". The core base of this team is too youthful, which we seen was electric when all is well. But now it seems things are flat with a struggle to see a game out or come back. So the recruitment needs to be the best it's ever been, and learn from this season where you could say his hands may of been tied in the time scale he had to get a squad of the right experience in due to players opting elsewhere or not avaliable.
We all know the scouting system was poor. Now we should be in a better position to get these players signed up as we have them on our data base and should no enough about players around our level or more gems like chris stokes.
We really need a leader too, ideally a hungry player with experience who can do the job on the pitch in the 90 mins.
Plenty to learn from this season and take forward.

Agreed, the revolving door of managers got us to a final day survival scrap at the bottom of league 1 last year.
We are not in danger of relegation, if we were 20th and on this form I might be saying something different.

We keep going on about how Mowbray needs to change his tactics, team selections and what he does, so maybe we need to do the same. Stop baying for blood because of some shite form and give our manager more than 12 months. We shouldn't be considering sacking him at the very least before the end of the season in my opinion. Its not worked before, why would it work now?

But after nearly 3 months of struggle we are no nearer a solution ! We continue with the same team formation that's failed for 3 months. Let's remember we are losing to struggling teams come April we are against the better sides on the league.

You have to remember that this is his first full season in this league, it sounds silly to say as he is probably the most/best experienced manager in the League but it is new to him aswell, L1 is a very different prospect to the Championship.

If we ever do get out of this league its TM that I would want to lead us into a season in the Championship.

It may be new to TM but after such an awful run since November I would have expected the 'most experienced' and 'best' manager at this level to have learnt something. I don't want to listen to the same post match interviews; I don't want to witness the same abject defending or woeful attacking as we have recently. I want TM to lead us out of L1 but he only will if he adapts the style of play, has a plan B and gets a team of fully committed and passionate players. Without that he will lead us to mid table mediocrity at best.

Jimmy Hill took became Coventry manager in Nov 1961, he didn't get promotion till the 63-64 season.

Instant success isn't always lasting success.
