Let’s keep it IYO and not deep into realityThe team as it stands is not good enough to stay up IMO.
improved keeper & strikers we have another option with o’hare,a LB & CB will be signed before we start we have over 3 weeks yet...Centre half and left back? I assume that will be addressed
Potentially improved gk
I disagree. I can name at least 5 teams I expect to finish above:The team as it stands is not good enough to stay up IMO.
If we can find a striker in our pack that can consistently score over the course of the season we can push through to mid-table. We haven't found him yet and questions remain over our back line - so safety will still be a reasonable target.

I’m confident we have upgraded from Wilson who’s miles off and Marosi who doesn’t command his areaCan we definitively say whether we've improved in the keeper department? Moore has barely played in 3 years and reviews from Sheffield United fans suggest his level is probably top end League One.
Until we see him play none of us can actually say whether he's an improvement on what we previously had.
Flatters to deceive palYeah, James is a massive loss imo, in his time here he was a class above what we had and still have.

That's what I am wondering.Do you know if Moore commands his area?
Again we're making assumptions on things we don't definitively know.
And I thought I'd come over here after the euro thread to cheer myself up. JeezOur defense, which was already one of the worst in the league, is dramatically worse as it stands
Our midfield is also objectively worse without James and no new reinforcements
Our goalkeeping situation could even be worse for all we know, but I promise I'm not being pessimistic

Tbf and I am a fan of his but quite a few of the mistakes came from McFadzean who’s the oldest in the squad I thinkWith regards to the defence, and the goals conceded. If I recall a lot of goals came from avoidable mistakes.
I’m optimistic that the team will have learned from them and therefore better for the experience. Realistically if you want to be a championship footballer - you can’t really be making the same horrendous mistakes.
I’m sure the defence was better in the second half of the season when they stopped making school boy errors.
There is that, weren’t his mistakes more stupid challenges in the box? Those I’m afraid happen at all teams.Tbf and I am a fan of his but quite a few of the mistakes came from McFadzean who’s the oldest in the squad I think
I guarantee it do you really think robins is gonna let Marosi go for more of the same keeper ?Do you know if Moore commands his area?

Gyokeres? We havent actually paid a fee for anyone this season yet so i will be very suprised if we didnt splash out on at least 1.
We spent a reported 1.3 on Hamer and 900k on Walker last summer.
Our budget now is apparently bigger so i would expect similar to 2 million being splashed again
Hopefully on Ostigard. He will be worth 5 times that in 2 seasons

And Sheaf though I don’t know if that was accounted for last season. If it wasn’t then that’s supposedly close to £2m alreadyGyokeres?
Come back to me on this in a couple of months we will resume this thenHow can you guarantee it? I don't know what's in Robins' thinking or plans and neither do you.
Moore might turn out to be a shrewd signing but ignoring the opinions of Sheffield United fans coupled with the fact he's featured a handful of times in 3 years can't be ignored. The arguement that of "well he must be good because Robins signed him" is frankly idiotic as no transfer comes with such guarantees.

Do you promise to keep the same opinion for that long?Come back to me on this in a couple of months we will resume this then
My point is I’ll be standing by what I’ve said come back to me on a couple of months & we can resume this but I’m sure you’ll say I was right,Robins has reportedly been after a keeper since last January as he clearly wasn’t happy with Marosi to the point he used Wilson for how long,I’ll be very surprised if he’s not an upgrade else what was the point ?That was literally my original point?

I’ve never seen a keeper which such a beautiful smile I’m happy and confident he will be goodEvery player signed is meant to be an upgrade. It doesn’t mean they will be. We have no idea yet whether Moore will be, I think that’s the point being made.

Why sell Marosi and risk it then ?I wouldn't jinx it, standing by what you say is hardly your strong point.
The point was I'm unsure why Moore is being touted as a significant upgrade when not one of us has ever seen him play and his record, as well as the reviews from fans of his previous club, neither suggest that he's a significant upgrade on what we've had previously.
The arguement of 'Robins signed him so of course he'll be an upgrade' is ridiculous as whilst that might be the aim, there's simply nothing to prove that or make it a guarantee.
Because Marosi has 1 year left on his contract and allegedly fell out with MR, so they’re getting a fee to add to the coffers whilst signing someone Robins believes to be as good as Marosi? Why sell Marosi and risk it then ?
Brighton have let Clarke go out on loan and he is a better CB than Osti. It would be strange if they were keeping him for their squad, more likely they triggered the contract extension so they could sell him.Until Brighton decide on their squad no one knows including him. Brighton is his first choice....but it will be a late decision where he ends up?
I think he is a target with a couple of potential loans pencilled in as back up.
