Yep, does ring a bell actually. Kinda irrelevant how many we've heard of though... our kids beat their kids, happy days.Pretty sure Jake Hesketh has played against us (been on loan at Burton, MK Dons plus Lincoln)
Point is Tyler and Baka didn't score!Haha, fair play to Biamou. Loves scoring against Southampton under 23s.
Point is Tyler and Baka didn't score!
errrrrr.. Max did against the same oppo! And?
errrrrr.. Max did against the same oppo!
uuuummmm....Max is great off the bench and always takes an opportunity when it comes along...so we should always hold on to a goal scorer...I cant take this logic seriously sorry
Saving themselves? If you're going to dismiss the quality of the opposition you have to question why your inferior players seem to have achieved more than your superior players.

I think part of the reason that Grendel and a few others have an anti-Max rhetoric is because half our fans think he's god so their auto-response is to even out the ridiculous biasSuarez didn't score against Liverpool last season but troy deeney did, I think we all know deeney is the better player
I left school 61 years agoExcited about school starting again on Thursday?
Some of the worst strikers in the clubs history have managed to score goals here and there... It means very little..I'm not saying that the three goalscorers today are better players than the strikers who are currently in favour just because they scored. Not having seen the game I can't know the circumstances.
I'm just reacting to people dismissing achievements of players that they don't rate.

Ben Turner played him out the Final in his Cardiff days.Didn't forster have an amazing performance vs Messi once? Can't handle max though woooop
Jesus, I just assumed you were a bored 14 year old kid with your insane baseless logic

Just throwing stones in the pond and counting the ripples
On a positive, it will get max feeling good for his new club
I agree, he could well stay... I just can't stand the illogical bedwetting over somebody so ordinary. Rotate.
That picture!!
Who knows he may settle for fourth spot .
Don't think the manager said he's out, think like before he can work his way in.
Up to Max I think.
Shouldn't have shown that hand ... you're a target now for early senilityI left school 61 years ago
I've just seen somebody say 5 of that saints team played against Swansea... I don't believe that but does anybody actually know
They did but Southampton were already 7-0 up by that point
I'm not here to promote Max. I accept that he is never going to be a prolific goalscorer and at 29, he's not the future. He started football late in life, relatively speaking, and lost a season through injury. It just happens that , of the few goals he has scored, some were memorable and some were important in the context. That's why some people like him, not because they rate him above othersShouldn't have shown that hand ... you're a target now for early senility
I love Max but we're not the manager and I trust MR's decision if he is cashed in. Whatever happens, good TEAM performance today it seems.
I agree with most of what you say... but for me Max is great off the bench, and that's his value to us, and why he's worth holding on to. Rarely seems to disappoint in that role..I'm not here to promote Max. I accept that he is never going to be a prolific goalscorer and at 29, he's not the future. There are a number of people on here though who just can not accept anything that he achieves. We expect Godden to score. We will expect Walker to score, just as we expected Chaplin to score. If Max is so inadequate we should be pleased with his achievements, not keep trying to justify our opinions. That's doesn't mean we expect him to be our first choice starter.
I would actually prefer for him to leave now for a lower league club where he might have a decent couple of seasons, than hang around getting the odd appearance of the bench

Strikers who start playing professional football later in life tend to carry on playing longer at a higher level. (Ian Wright, Kevin Phillips come to mind). Players who play intensively at a younger age often burn out and start going downhill earlier (M Owen, W Rooney).
Might be because their joints / ligaments wear out. Maybe the more high level games / high impact training = more injuries which take their toll. I don’t know.
Just saying, but I can see Max playing on into his mid 30’s at the level he is now.
Guess some people have players they like and players they don't for whatever reason. I interpreted the point being made as Max once again had scored from the bench. His record last season was 11 goals in 26 appearances, most of which were from the bench. On that basis it's easy to see why people might point out that once again Max has scored off the bench. Javier Hernandez did simular numbers and role for Man Utd.I think part of the reason that Grendel and a few others have an anti-Max rhetoric is because half our fans think he's god so their auto-response is to even out the ridiculous bias

IMO Max would not be able to lead our attack but off the bench with 20 mins to go he is dangerous and stats seem to back it up.
