Like I have said in an earlier post it is gonna go down to Southampton with us needing a win to stay up and them needing a win to be crowned

Been saying it for a couple of weeks now, just like City. I was there the last time we need something against them in 1968, last game of the season. Still remember Maurice Setters kicking 7 shades out of Wynne Davis their centre forward. Went there on the Sky Blue Express. The score 0-0, Sheff Utd went down. Happy Days

1968 was an excellent year. It was the year I was born in.

Can see us maybe getting a draw there. Going to be very, very hard to bag a victory though.

Half expect Danny Fox to score a wonder goal against us to send us down.

Yes you can just see it. I've been having a conversation with some Saints fans they are convinced they will whip us big time, but are they over convident...

It is a fact that Saints do not play well against the bottom teams, my other half's family are season ticket holders and they can see a slip up against city

Sorry but that scenario is not going to happen. Our fate will be decided before then I suspect and we need to win at Burnley first b4 we even entertain such thinking.

And I just can't see that Burnley win.

I would be delighted with a draw. That doesn't help our predicament too much though does it and then makes Millwall a must-win.

Millwall is a must win anyway....think we need 3 wins minimum...

Well I was thinking 4 points out of the 2 games coming up would be good.

Bristol 4 pts ahead.

City win at Burnley + Bristol loss to Brum = Bristol 1 point ahead.

City then draw against Millwall + Bristol loss to West Ham = City ahead of Bristol on goal difference.

The key to the results this way is the pressure it then puts onto Bristol going into the West Ham game with us back breathing down their necks. We draw at Burnley and Bristol will still be 3 points clear minimum whatever.

4 points would be great, but in some ways it would be better if it were to be 4 points for the win to come at Burnley. Can't see any way whatsoever that we can win 3 on the bounce. We haven't done so all season. Under the scenario above then we would overtake Bristol with just a draw against Millwall.

All ifs and buts of course. We need Bristol to lose both games.

If were sent down by Southampton on the same day they won the league / got promoted it couldn't be any more fitting considering the 2 clubs chosen ownership paths.

Yep. All you'd need to hammer it home is what Otis said, Danny Fox scoring the winner with a belting free kick or something.

Let's face it. Fox is going to score a wonder goal to win the game or he'll have a complete stinker.

It's on the cards.

Exactly if Bristol lose and we win there will be so much pressure on us vs millwall I think we would step up its about time we did for once

If Bristol City match our reamaing results we go down.

We need to win all 4 games remaining!

Everyone thinks Bristol will loose against Brum and West Ham. They wont.

turn all of your angst / anger towards the controllers / owners,
who have systematically reduced us to a laughing stock,
utter ineptitude by sisu for far too long,
i still say it's time for the worm to turn,
we are as one SKY BLUE,
they care nowt for you & i & have to suck up to their investors,
and who are they then ?
they appoint a succession of apologists, who treat us to minimal information,
when will this CRAP stop,
i refer to a phrase by my kids,
liar liar bums on fire,

Exactly. But likewise everyone seems to think we will beat Barnsley. I won't be surprised if we don't.

Every City (Bristol) fan I know is praying for something from Brum and/or Wham. If we lose both, I expect us to be right back in the s**t.

4 points ahead we may be, but I honestly think it's still 50/50.:slap:

I have always myself said "if" Bristol lose to Brum and West Ham.

It is of course an "if."

Fact is if Birmingham and West Ham play to their full potential they will both beat Brsitol. Football doesn't work like that.

We are asking an awful lot here ... us to win 3 games where we haven't won 3 in a row all season and Bristol to fail. The only hope we have really is to somehow beat Burnley and even then, if Bristol beat Brum we would still look very much doomed.

The one thing we needed to do was to avoid defeat at Ashton Gate and we failed to do that. We are now on a wing and a prayer.

Over confident?

They've won 15 home games, more than any other team.
We've won 1 away game, less than any other team.

They've scored 44 goals at home, more than any other team.
We've scored 12 goals away from home, less than any other team.

Yeah, I just can't imagine why they'd be confident :jerkit:

I think you maybe right with that. Don't think there were many who didn't automatically assume that we would beat Peterboough and Brizzle would lose against Forest...look what happened there. All our rivals have managed to pull off shock results against the top teams over the last few weeks...something we've not really done all season. I hope we're still in with a shout come the Southampton game, but I very much doubt we will be.

Its a funny old game matey... I can think of loads of examples when the underdog have come through. Your right they should thump us by at least 3, but we all know the game is not like that, or I could predict every result for every team every week...

And we all knew Wigan would beat Manure the other day. Bottom 3 team against team clear at top.

As long as we win both home games we would only need a point against Southampton

Is it against league rules to have 10 keepers on pitch ;-)
