Back in the 1950/60/70/80s the local people wouldn't have waited for the police. They'd have beat him to within an inch of his life and if they didn't the police would have done the same .OK so you have an issue with somebody saying "take to the streets" and being called out on it.
Yet you posted this about people arming themselves and taking to the streets? You also mention civil disobedience and not being peaceful.

Now this will be good !Will you when you threatened to kick my head in?

Videos doing the rounds of it all kicking off in Southport. Police van on fire.
Of course, should be taken with a pinch of salt at this point but I'm seeing stories of some bloke turning up at the Vigil with a knife which sparked it all off.
That's why they're attacking the police and throwing bricks and wheelie bins at them?!

One thing said:Merseyside Police arrested a man and seized a flick knife after receiving a report at 6.50pm that he had been seen with a weapon on Eastbank Street.
No one was injured and the 32-year-old man from Standish was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article, and taken into custody.
Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: “We know too well the devastating impact knife crime can have for victims, their families and friends, and those who carry them.
“This week has seen an unspeakable tragedy unfold in Southport, and this incident occurred a short distance from where a vigil had been happening where the community was paying their respects to all those affected.
“Officers made a swift arrest and have seized a knife that could have been used to cause harm in our communities.
“Those offenders who carry them have no place whatsoever in our communities.
Riot said:“At around 7.45pm, a large group of people – believed to be supporters of the English Defence League – began to throw items towards a local mosque on St Luke’s Road in Southport.
“Officers who are deployed are currently dealing with criminal behaviour and violence with bottles and wheelie bins being thrown at them.
“As a result, an officer has suffered a suspected broken nose and police vehicles have been damaged and set alight.
“Additional patrols are now in attendance, including the Dog Section.”
Sum up said:“The actions in Southport tonight will involve many people who do not live in the Merseyside area or care about the people of Merseyside.
Not a clue mate. Emotions are obviously running high and people are doing stupid shit by the looks of it. Not helpful though, I agree.
After the boat people of earlier, surely lesson learned that it'd probably be best to wait don't you think, rather than quoting other self-interested people. The police have given their quotes so far, that surely suffices for now.I mean, you've got to be some kind of special to turn up to a vigil for what happened yesterday with a knife

If you take a look on social media there are multiple reputable news outlets now confirming it's true and pictures of his arrest
That's evidently what kicked things off. By all accounts it wa s peaceful vigil until he rocked up waving a knife about. What does anyone think would happen after that?
Buster or Diane?Incident, vigil, “protest” [rioting] repeat.
Almost surprised the same didn’t happen for Keaton.
Buster or Diane?
Did you know, Michael Keaton is actually the grandson of Buster.Michael. Bloody div.
It's awful and the timing is so very off.Must be a nightmare living in Southport with yesterday and now rioting tonight, the locals must be bewildered. These riots have the possibility to spread to other towns and cities during the summer months, let's hope not but can see it happening.
I think you really need to give up!lol he was welsh. I really do give up
We have gone through an odd period, back to the normality and it doesn't look good. All very avoidable.Sometimes I'd like to just stop the world and get off, with my wife and kids. It's such a f*&king horrible place sometimes.
I genuinely worry what it'll be like when my 2 yr old daughter and 5yr old son are older. It's scary.
