Apparently, because he's under 21, he can't be given a whole life term. Is that true?

It's not excusing anybody.

Probably a better choice than excusing terrorists or playing it down as "nutter with a knife" all the time though.

You’re referrring to the man who admitted in court that he wanted to murder MPs as revenge for British policy in Syria?

Do you believe the Southport case is a similar attack?

Those poor rioters outside the mosque were just good people who wouldn’t have done it if nasty Keir hadn’t pushed them to do it. Even when they admit to doing it you say it’s the lawyers’ fault!

I haven't excused anything, I have explained why people will have been driven to look for information from other places. I'm not even on about the rioters and people who threw bricks. I'm talking about the majority of people who would have felt annoyed that didn't feel the need to go out and act like cunts.

No I don’t think any of the 3 attacks have any similarity

I think if the Southport attack is proven to be an Islamic terrorist attack, then there urgently needs to be heightened surveillance of this man’s religious network. And yet you seem entirely uncurious as to what his specific beliefs and network might be, to the point that you seem willing to lump him in with anyone who even has Islamic literature in their possession. Why don’t you care?

Cooper said the Crown Prosecution Service had been clear that information about Rudakubana's past "could not be made public before today to avoid jeopardising the legal proceedings or prejudicing the possible jury trial, in line with the normal rules of the British justice systems".

So you’re saying this is bollox then Nick and grendel

Gets worse Nick he was below 18 when he committed the crime
Therefore

Life imprisonment is applicable only to defendants aged 18 and over. Those aged under 18 are sentenced to an indeterminate sentence (detention at His Majesty's pleasure). Any convict sentenced to a life sentence can in principle be held in custody for their whole life, assuming parole is never given for juveniles.

How is it playing things down? Nutters with knives often go to prison for life - this one certainly should.

Are we allowed to dismiss people trying to burn people alive in hotels as nutters with torches?

No but people who for years subscribe to white nationalist magazines, shout Britain first, attack a politician for having the opposite views, has stacks far right literature and Nazi memorabilia in their home, wrote about the bloody struggle of the white race, says to police when arrested “I’m a political activist” and when asked in court his name responds “My name is death to traitors, freedom for Britain” might be.

As RoS said, you’re not stupid enough to actually believe this so just come off as a common racist TBH.

That’s the bottom line really. The usual suspects are very conveniently avoiding the fact that he was also “obsessed with Hitler, Ghengis Khan and the IRA” because this represents a nice chance to go after Muslims.

Nope, they are cunts who should be done for attempted murder if they intended to start a fire to kill people (whether people were in there or not).

Looking at this you’re more likely to go to prison for life as an nutter than a terrorist.

It’s as if there’s different rules for people u18 for a reason or between 18 and 21 for some reason
Or are you against that too

Can you really not see how "nutter with a knife" trivialises it? Couple of nutjobs with knives killed Lee Rigby, nutter with a transit van driving about near Finsbury Park. Few nutjobs in Gaza with guns and a bit of power, the bloody plonkers.

Palming it off as a "nutter" clearly tries to remove all seriousness of it.

I am sure you realise that there would have been some people starting fires, some abusing police, some throwing bricks and a range of crimes being committed.

Maybe you can see why somebody shouting, "Where are my taxes going?" and ranting is different to somebody actually trying to commit murder.

Course you won't though.

In defence of Grendel he might just be a boomer who doesn’t understand how easy this stuff is to access (well probably does now it’s in this thread) and how common it is for edgy teenage boys to download this sort of stuff.

But now he’s had that explained to him and tried to compare the evidentiary level with Tommy Mair I think it’s obvious he’s just scrabbling around for a reason to be racist about Muslims. Which we have no evidence this kid even was. And even if he was we have no evidence he committed this crime as an Islamist attack rather than just being a nutter who happened to be Muslim.

I assume we now recognise him attacking a classmate with a hockey stick at 13 as an Islamist terror attack too.

God the world is so monumentally stupid these days. Bring back the internet before eternal September.

Yeah I mean every edgy teenage lad is producing Ricin and planning mass killings.

I was sat waiting for Limewire to download an mp3, wanking, drinking the park and playing football (at different times) in my teenage years.

If the Southport murderer had been white then this thread would have gone the same way as the Kyle Clifford Crossbow murderer thread.
