That particular article is about a picture of the guy. Probably a story about his background.

I really can't imagine any article on the attack itself leading with 'quiet schoolboy' in the headline.
It would be a more shocking crime if it was thus however - ties into the stereotypes of disturbed loner etc. Many horror movies made on such a premise!

Semantics. A fine tooth comb is used so blame can be apportioned.

Let me get this straight. The Taylor Swift themed dance class is being referred to as the Taylor Swift themed dance class?

Tragically, chances are those poor girls wouldn't have attended if it wasn't.

Not everything is a conspiracy.

What are you on about?

I'm saying putting Taylor Swift in the headline is more about selling papers/clicks etc than reporting what has happened/showing respect to these innocent victims and reporting about the evil fucker who's done it.

It's a side part, it's not relevant to the actual event. It was probably no more than simply playing her music in the dance hall, it wasn't her concert or anything. Plus it'll attract "Swifties" bots/Stan accounts to it on Social Media.

I think many are missing the point re the photo.

He's 17. People are talking about other murders in the past and other killers.

If this guy was 25, or 29, or 32 or whatever, this wouldn't be an issue and it wouldn't be a school photo.

I don't think there is any weird flex to be had here.

It's an important part of the story regardless of how you feel about it.

It's the Daily Mail FFS, what do you expect?

I think people forget the coverage of the Bulger murder. That was shock that an innocent could be killed, and doubled down that it could be done by people so young - people who are supposed to be clear of such thoughts and deeds. So it was a mix of the shock of a loss of innocence of the criminals, and confusion over how their childhood had gone so wrong to make them so evil.

Some of the interviews made hard watching in the docu drama

I appreciate the attempt to poke but I will continue to stick to my position that yes, if the voting age were reduced to 16 then yes, he should be treated as an adult in such cases.

Completely different though, weren't they about 10 at the time?

This lad was near enough 18 and they are referring to something about 5 or 6 years ago.

If he was now 13 and currently a choirboy and did it, then fair enough.

I personally think it's disrespectful to the victims by trying to get more sales/clicks with the Taylor Swift link.

Nothing more, definitely not a conspiracy.

Also, it's across all media not just the DM.

in truth he is nearly 18 and has to be accountable for his actions and face the public spotlight

I don't mind that in the slightest. There's no excuse for what he's done whatever age he is. His age is irrelevant bar it does make for a 'better' story, and it does mean a different procedure needs to be followed.

There is however a legal process that needs to be followed but, let's face it, he ain't going to be getting a suspended sentence because of his age is he.

Brave patriots wearing balaclavas in Sunderland tonight. To be fair, it is a little chilly today.

If they hadn't released his name etc due to being 17 and he was convicted etc before 18, do they then release all the information when a convict hits 18?

Can't really remember a similar event to know.

I assume his name was released because people online had figured out who it was based on the address of the raid and somebody who said they went to school with him.

It was in the public domain a day or so before he was in court I think.

Just had a German girl stay with us for two weeks. She was saying they can vote at 16 in Germany and it seems to be working quite well

Its weird how you accuse others of being obsessed.

Literally people waving machetes round in balaclavas the other night. Face coverings at a lot of the Palestine marches too.

Again, it's weird how you seem to only notice certain people being cunts.
Two minutes. You're slacking.

In European elections only isn’t it?

Doubt that had any effect on the decision by the judge to be honest

Not really because I was on the thread anyway replying to something else.

Its fucking weird. Its as if you post stuff to get a reply so you can be offended people disagree.

You are better off in the echo chambers you brag about living in. I'm sure you will be congratulated.

If anything he said it was to stop misinformation and people spreading names of innocent people.

Hmm.

The Judge said:
Inside the court room, the judge said an order preventing Rudakubana being named until his 18th birthday would have "little practical effect in terms of protecting the welfare of the defendant or his family".

Judge Andrew Menary said the "balance clearly comes down in favour of the public interest in allowing full reporting of these proceedings".

"Continuing to prevent full reporting at this stage has a disadvantage of allowing others up to mischief to continue to spread misinformation in a vacuum," the judge said.

He’ll be sentenced to three whole life terms consecutively and never leave prison

Will he? David Mcgreavey killed 3 children when babysitting and then beheaded them and stuck them on iron railings as he fell out with their mother.

Mr Mcgreavey is now a free man after being considered a reformed character
