benefits will be different from whats purely being shown on the pitch, PDs will be the coordination between areas, like medical, analytics, sports science etc, if people thought she was going to act like a coach or something then they're mistaken.
They will. But those benefits have to manifest on the pitch at some point.
He was so far off the right wing the other day that it can't possibly have been against instructions. Surely some kind of ploy that was meant to allow MVE to get further forward down the flank? If that was a tactic, it didn't work well because it just seemed to expose MVE defensively (if EMC was ignoring the manager and playing wherever he fancied, I grant you that would have been terrible).I’ve been paying enough attention to see that EMC doesn’t seem to play where he has been asked to play when on the right and has a really poor first touch. He does do plenty of exaggerated but ineffectual step overs though.
He was slated week in and week out for months, with just a few of us seeing the potential in him (I doubt if anyone foresaw one of the best strikers in Europe mind you!).I don't remember Gyokores being slated once
I was wondering if it was instructions as we've had two or three players do the same in that right attacking position. He was so far off the right wing the other day that it can't possibly have been against instructions. His stepovers sometimes take him past people, unless we are just looking for negatives? I've seen some intelligence and skill in playing one-twos. And in the few games he's had, he's arrived with determination at the back post quite a few times and could easily have had a couple of goals with a bit more luck / marginally better timing. Only for people to then accuse him of missing sitters.
The poster I was replying to said he'd seen absolutely nothing in EMC. I don't agree, and it's very early days for someone stepping up a level into a stuttering team. It would be amazing if he found it easy, and he deserves better support than he's getting on here.
Playing narrow can’t be an instruction. Sakamoto hasn’t done it. Anyone who watches for more than 5 mins can see it hurts us.He was so far off the right wing the other day that it can't possibly have been against instructions. BTA did after EMC got subbed off. Haven't seen Robins kicking off about it. Idk but feels like an instruction to me.Playing narrow can’t be an instruction. Sakamoto hasn’t done it. Anyone who watches for more than 5 mins can see it hurts us.
In his first few months at the club Hamer was scoring headers from outside the box, never mind looking like a threat generally. He hit the ground running.“fans” - about three people with a Sheaf obsession.
This is as bad as the Vik revisionism. Hamer Vik and Sheaf all looked a level above from day one. Similar to how MvE looked when he signed.
He didn’t though, BTA played wider and we looked better for it.BTA did after EMC got subbed off. Haven't seen Robins kicking off about it. Idk but feels like an instruction to me.
That's true. EMC (normally a winger) played narrow, while BTA (normally a striker) went much wider on the wing after EMC went off. I still find it hard to believe that EMC was going rogue by playing so much more centrally, surely it was intentional? Doubt if he would have stayed so long on the pitch if he was blatantly ignoring the manager's tactics. He didn’t though, BTA played wider and we looked better for it.
There’s been plenty of players who have come good from L1 over 21, what a silly thing to say.
EMC’s numbers last season for Peterborough were similar to Toney’s before Brentford signed him.
EMC will come good, to reiterate the same point I’ve made on several threads, it’s not possible that all of our forward players have become bad overnight.
Put simply, we’re not creating the chances for our forwards.
That’s not where I saw BTA playing most of the time after EMC went. There was quite a bit of attacking play down right wing as BTA and MVE were supporting each other.BTA did after EMC got subbed off. Haven't seen Robins kicking off about it. Idk but feels like an instruction to me.
I know its a silly thing to argue about but calling Rudoni a League 1 signing is just nonsense to me. The bloke has never played in League 1 in his life has he?Rudoni is the most expensive L1 signing ever over 21 aside from the lad Sunderland signed for £11m and sold for £7m or whatever.
Feel free to list these plenty of multimillion pound signings in their mid twenties from L1 who have gone on to justify their fee.

I think the only real criticism Hamer got was for his regularity of getting booked and/ or sent off.In his first few months at the club Hamer was scoring headers from outside the box, never mind looking like a threat generally. He hit the ground running.
This one you're spot on about, people with an eye for a player recognised all of these. Others wanted Biamou kept on...“fans” - about three people with a Sheaf obsession.

We went over this yesterday. He was signed from a L1 club with L1 finances so it’s relevant for his fee.
But you're not signing him as a League 1 player who you're hoping can make the step up, your signing him an a known quantity at the level you're at.We went over this yesterday. He was signed from a L1 club with L1 finances so it’s relevant for his fee.
Ok lets leave it alone then, probably best not to go over it againNot to relitigate yesterdays argument but other players on the list came from relegated clubs like Sunderland so it’s a fair comparison.

I don’t agree with this- he never played in L1, he was not a L1 player. Just more distortion.
Less chance of her coming unstuck doing it that way.Maybe it's a way of joy to receive her handbags syrupticiously without making it obvious?
Why didn't we just sell wright then?To be fair don’t get people already judging him to be a failure. Granted he hasn’t started on fire but thought he’s doing alright for a difficult step up not playing on his side of the pitch which means he can’t do what he wants to do in regards to cutting in on his preferred foot.
If we want to give him a proper look in, move wright to ST and play him on the left or drop Wright onto the bench.
Shows how you be more brief then, when imparting your philosophy?Would’ve taken £8 for him and/or Hamer too!
He’s played almost 50% of his career football in L1 if we’re going to start making silly claims.
Look at the owner mate and what he's doing?Badly worded, you know what I mean. When we signed him he was not a L1 player.
what difference does it make anyway? I get that we’re all on a crusade to destroy the players after 9 games, but why all the flexing to come up with new variants on the theme that “they’re all shite and a total waste of money, and that’s definite”
Look at the owner mate and what he's doing?
i thought any idea of automatics were crazy at the start of this season anyway. sure we've got holes, injuries dont help, but i still dont think we've found the right mix of the squad we have anyway. theres plenty of negatives but theres still alot of positives.
wilson playing well again, dovin a great starter - thats refreshing.
simms/wright we know they can score alot of goal, you dont lose that.
we have bassette, who i think it an absolute raw talent.
MVE - incredible
eccles will always put in a shift
sheaf who we can rely on
saka is back, we thought he was gone for good
and although everyone sees it as a negative MR has a bolstered coaching staff, a performance director, and a owner that actually invests and cares
these are all the things we dreamt of a few years ago.
When Vik first joined us, he had been a bust at Swansea and struggled to get in the team ahead of Biamou. He scored 2 goals in his first 12 games and if we were to revisit the original Vik signing thread, there were many sceptical comments on there.“fans” - about three people with a Sheaf obsession.

i honestly don know if this is sarcasmThank you for cheering me up

There will be similar comments regarding Sheaf who in his first season did have a habit of pondering on the ball and losing it. Many posters did not feel like he was good value at 750k and time proved them wrong.
Hamer, people were getting fed with him being a ‘liability’ before the World Cup break. He had moments of class as well as games like Bournemouth where he gets sent off in a stupid way. Statistically, he massively improved after the 2022 World Cup in his G/A output.
People are too impatient and quick to write off players based on (often) first impressions.
