Or the goal at the death of the second leg, memory gap,was it a penalty?Would've Won 3.1 on Aggregate and Our First Trip to Wembley, but for those 2 Goals we Gave Them in the First Leg.
Some Things Never Change.

I went to the Cambridge home game 1-1 we won the replay 1-0 and i saw us win for the first time after about 12 attempts against Watford 5-0. Was on the Crows nest as I recall stood on a stool. A happy 9 year old that night!i just remembered, we went to the brighton away game as well earlier in the cup run. 1st or 2nd round??
we happened to be on holiday somewhere down south, maybe weymouth or something, and decided to go to the game. must have been back when you could just rock up and get in. i do remember being in the home end, and my dad repeatedly telling me to shut up. hahaha
must have been the first away game i went to that wasn't in the midlands.
sorry, slightly off topic.
Always preferred Cosby. Nice village centre with a stream- reminiscent of Stretton and Wolston in a way.I am rthem, I like Countesthorpe it’s a nice place.
Got a cracking cafe/tearoom there, the cook on the nook, do a full brekky £12.50 Kids meals really good too. We go quite often with the grandkids, after school as a treat.Always preferred Cosby. Nice village centre with a stream- reminiscent of Stretton and Wolston in a way.

Could have been a game against Sheffield United, early 70s which was abandoned in the second half with us losing 2-0. We won the replayed game 3-2 I think.Spent many happy times on it with my father and my son.It was a great place to see how good some of the passes really were, made you appreciate the skill.Standing there cannot remember what season against one of the Sheffield sides in the 70's.got son and dad with me started to rain then snow(artic type conditions). son inside my coat trying to protect him.We gave up and I left my dad and son standing at the supporters club enterance and got the car as I picked them up big cheer went up the ref. had called the game off.Happy times.
No it wasn't, it was a wood stanchion built above the concrete in the corner of the Kop towards the Mercers Arms pub
jfc! Kudos to anyone mad enough to stand on that thing together with loads of others. Insane!

Never thought of it as a death trap as I said previously stood there for many years the only time any doubt was Friday 13th 1964 ( had to check the year remembered the date) lost 5-2 to Southend dire game and someone started a fire under the top end of it.As you might think more interest in the fire than the game. From memory don't remember any mass exodus of the wooden part.it looked a bit precarious, but i can assure you it was perfectly...
no, you're right, it was a death trap waiting to happen.
Tony Cottee? Nowhere near their first team at this point - It was Jimmy Neighbour and I wasn't even at this game.Tony Cottee from just inside The Penalty Area, if My Memory Serves me Right.
Great views of the Kop.
Not sure when the Crows Nest was deemed unsafe and fenced off.
I used to prop up the left hand post of the scoreboard in my 20s.
There was a very tall slim guy that had kyphosis up there too, he used to march in the Salvation Army band.

Talking of the kop, does anybody remember them coming in along the top in the first half?

Spent my first visits to Highfied road aged 6 exploring the old spion Kop and the breathtakingly mental crows nest in 1976/77.
Uncle took me and my brother a few times whilst our old man had a season ticket in the Skyblue Stand, the following season dad got us season tickets with him in the Skyblue stand next to the Kop, wonderful memories.
But tbh my most vivid memory of the kop was Forest clinching the league title with a 0 v 0 draw 1977/78their fans were given the entire Kop and packed it to bursting point.
The whole ground was full & the atmosphere great, never forget Clough in his yellow jersey & his team doing a lap of honour & my old man joining in a standing ovationwhich I thought weird as he usually hated the opposition
