You are living in the past I think. Anyone under the age of about 30 isn't going to remember us being in the top flight and playing teams like this regularly.Because we aren't a tiny little club and we've played spurs 91 times in the past , it's the 4th round of the league cup

I doubt anyone is losing sleep but there wouldn't be multiple songs in football about 'Shit support', 'empty seats' etc.
All I'm saying is it's clearly a part of football, especially for younger fans.
Fuck me , yes mate the 4th round of the old milk cup is as big as an fa cup quarter final ..
Shame you don't see this as a big occasion.
Fine disagreeing with the price but you don't need to knock it. As I've said, it's the first top 6 club since Chelsea we are playing at home in any competition.
I guess.Right , so you can forgive those that are older and do remember not caring as much as you?
Because we aren't a tiny little club and we've played spurs 91 times in the past , it's the 4th round of the league cup , it's a good draw but I'm not about to call it an all timer

There's also no guarantee we'll ever get there again either.
We played Tottenham 11 years ago mate in a better cup competitionI guess.
Just seems odd. It was 25 years ago, things change. Football changes.
Man United away in 2008 (yes before anyone says it Man United are bigger than Spurs etc) is a game constantly looked back on by fans as one of the best days they've had following Coventry.
That was in the League Cup 3rd round..

If it's the same ones getting excited over people like that thogden and other gimps then they really don't count.
at a time when most of the fans there would of been going to the city when we made the trip every yearRight , it's man utd at old Trafford

I am , but I also went to see us play against Oxford11 years ago...
Are you going to this one
Right , away at the Premier league champions and the world's biggest club at the time
What's your point

You and Clint have been slating the League Cup and trying to suggest that if we won that game it wouldn't really be memorable because it's only the third round.
Only 8 years and well within the supporting lives of most who went to the game.
No one I knew or went with thought "oh it's the biggest club in the world", it was just a big allocation at a ground we;d all seen city play at before.

In terms of our historical memorable wins , it would be nowhere near the top
lol so you are goingI am , but I also went to see us play against Oxford
It would be the first time we've beaten a top 6 side at home since 2001. It would be the first top 6 side we've ever beaten at our near 20 years old stadium...
Well it's clearly not capturing the imagination of Coventry public.
Now that's got to be down to one of two things, or perhaps a combination of both.
It's not the attractive tie some are making out or the pricing is,wrong.
If it eventually hits a crowd of 27/28k then my assumption will be wrong and I'll come on this thread and say so.
lol so you are going
I think this probably is an age thing. I certainly see Spurs as a big club. Nowhere near Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc but at the next tier down. They have one of the best new stadiums in the country, have regularly played in Europe and have/had some very notable recent players. It's a big draw for me regardless of the competition or round.
I'd hope you can understand that in the same way I do understand it's maybe less attractive if you have actually watched us play them regularly at some point.
Man Utd and Arsenal in the league cup were away days, a day out, day off work, the chance to be part of massive followings (far bigger than league allocations). We're talking about a home tie, it hasn't the same attraction and is just another night as the CBS where a full house is now not unusual. It's pricey and it's Spurs, people just aren't foaming at the prospect. There is no mystery here.

Some good points but surely it's not just another night at the CBS.
The more this gets spun, the more it will put people off paying the money.
A day will come that we will play home games in the Premier League and Spurs at home will be a Cat A game.
We've also had a lot more bigger games in recent years then we did around the time of the two league cup games you've mentioned.
Big days out used to be few and far between.
I didn't realise there was a cut off tbh, what a ridiculous ideaI’m still pissed off I had to pay non-ST prices cause I missed the deadline.
My fault for missing it, but as a STH I don’t expect to be punished for it. Plus the shity add ons.
~£40 to watch us get battered with no leadership/experience/dinosaur hard man in midfield, and a half empty stadium.
