Just watching the latest conference from the Police.
I can't believe the sentimentalised PR gushing from these guys mouths.
Fair enough on the officer who's in Hospital.
The rest of it appears to be on the level of a Clouseau film.

It's real spy stuff, makes you wonder how much of it happens that goes unnoticed

Mr Corbyn believes we should just ignore it and make sure we do not upset Mr Putin - I wonder why.

So you missed the first sentence he said when he condemned it. You need to get your feed from CCHQ working quicker.

There’s always a but with Mr Corbyn though isn’t there? At least some of his back benchers had some guts to speak out for Britain for once.

Something the communist worshipping coward would never do.

The back benchers that voted for the Iraq War which contributed to the rise of ISIS?

That's real fucking gutsy....

Mr Corbyn I see has stated he will still appear on Russia Today (even his Stalinist Chum McDonnell has called for a boycott of the soviet sponsored news channel) - what a man of principal.

In fairness - if this was an act in the name of IS, for example, this thread would be at least double in size.
Focus upon the actual form this act took - regardless of motive, the fact it was targeting a specific individual, and that it appears it was state-sponsored...the outcome makes it an act of terror.

What will we actually do about it? Not a lot, they might switch the gas off!

Strange that there's no mention of Porton Down by the media despite the fact it's only a stones throw away from where the incident happened?
Report I heard yesterday said the place was crawling with military including experts from nearby PD.

I know someone who wasn't allowed out in their car Sat/Sun because the street had been cordoned off to park military vehicles in as the forensic search continued.

And after all, it's not as if the government has ever fabricated evidence about the use of nerve agents by a foreign regime of which it disaproves as a pretext to start a war.

So of all the places in the British Isles where a foreign power could have used a nerve agent against a British resident they chose one which is practically next door to Britains biggest manufacturer of nerve agents, one incidentally which has a history of experimenting on unwitting servicemen and civilians. Bit of a coincidence don't you think?

How thousands were subjected to chemical warfare trials during the Cold War

This is just Putin flexing his muscles again. He's testing our support as we leave the EU. The Russians could have had the bloke killed any time they wanted. They've done it now to test the water and see how far we'll push it. The bloke is a menace way worse than Trump.

It must be to prove a point, pretty sure when they are super spys like that they have the resources to just make them vanish.

There always will be a but whilst people continue to take snippets of statements he makes and twist them out of context to suit a narrative

All former British spys have a secret service bodyguard for life. The British media are well aware of this but for some reason have chosen to not mention it.

Yeah but they could make them vanish too if they really wanted to. Pull up in a van, bundle them in, pop pop in the head, barrel full of acid on a shipping container.

Maybe I just watch too much spooks?

My point Nick is that the version of events we've been told so far is a total croc. I expect the offical version to be 'revised' several times before we hear what really happened, if we ever do.

What happened is Putin ordered the KGB to murder a spy

And we can't do a f*cking thing about it, and we know it. Putin could walk into 10 Downing St, Shit in the Prime minister's breakfast then rape the cat, and we still wouldn't do a thing about it.

I don't know, I can really see the tories getting tough here and asking all those Oligarchs who give to them to up their donations.

There's a John Sweeney Panorama piece about Russia and Putin and the opposition tonight on the Beeb.

Will try and get the missus to watch it, but fat chance of that. Putin is a wonderful, wonderful, kind man in her eyes.

We had the the radio on in the car the other day and the news was on and as soon as it mentioned the poisoning and Russia she switched the radio off.

The green smoke coming out of it put you off?
Ha!

Nah, I am quite fussy about cleanliness and hygiene. Not to anal levels, but just things like washing your hands after you've been to the toilet and before handling food etc. She never does either.

She also uses food that is way, way past its best before date (i.e. a loaf of bread 19 days after its best before date).

Just feel it is safe to never venture there. ;)
