Just looked back. Our last 23 (League only) games at the Ricoh read like this:
P - 23
W - 9
D - 7
L - 7

On cwr yesterday they were saying they hope the pitch would hold out at the Ricoh. Can't have even been that many games on it?

I fail to believe it’s impossible to grow a decent pitch at the Ricoh. Any agreement really needs some kind of pitch quality clause in it. Even if it means we put some of the cost forward. It can’t be beyond the wit of man to keep it at a decent standard.

Record at St Andrew’s is outstanding. Have to ask how we would’ve done last season anyway, with easily the best team relative to the division we’ve had in years if not decades. But the pitch quality certainly would’ve helped.

I dont know how possible it is or what it would cost... But is there a way they can have 2 pitches that roll on roll off like at spurs... Or is that totally gone because the stadium is already built

How can it be that bad again, they had months of it not being used to sort it out.

Just had a look and Wasps have had two home games this season - also noticed they're 3rd from bottom. There was also two home games a month in August, September and October to finish off last season after a 24 week gap with no home games. If they haven't got it right now they never will.

They manage to be shit at absolutely everything despite having everyone bend over to help them.

"easily the best team relative to the division we’ve had in years if not decades".

Thats an interesting question. Individual player for player I'd have to say the 2016 team of Kent, Murphy, Fleck, Madders, Armstrong et al would edge it but we never ever played as good football that year compared to last season. Would've loved to see Robins have that 15/16 team.

I think as a team last seasons is better. Man for man of course I’d take Madders Armstrong and Murphy over some of our AMs and forwards (I’d argue Fleck has improved since he left us and not sure I’d have had him at the time over Kelly and Walsh last season), but we were easily the best team in the league last year and the Mowbray team never was.

But that was in hindsight. Prior to the season nobody was saying that we had the best team in the league.

in fact I’d argue that Sunderland at the start of the season had the best team, followed by Ipswich. Nobody had us down as champions.

that 15/16 team was a damn good side, and only blew up when we tried to shoehorn Cole in and tried to supplement it with has beens

Yeah sure but the argument is about the results we got at the Ricoh vs St Andrews so all that matters is what those results were is my point. This team was better for a host of reasons (manager, less disruption, IMO talent more evenly spread around the pitch), one of them may have been the pitch as well but IMO the other factors were more important is all I was saying.

Be interesting to see how Birmingham compare. If we're more comfortable playing at Stans than the landlords ;)

Great home form but we are the only team in the Championship not to have an away win.

Slight difference in the fact that we were winning at home amd picking up draws away whereas this season were picking up draws at home and losing on the road.

We’ve drawn more away than at home.

And also lost a lot more. Were currently 9th in the home form table. Were rock bottom in the away table. Below even Wycombe and Forest in the away form. GD at home is -1 whereas away is -7.

Just pointing out that what you said wasn’t really correct. I agree, we need to start picking up away, but I won’t start going mental about it yet.

A big difference between this and last season is we need way less wins to call it a success. We probably only need 12 or 13 wins in total (based on last season's Championship table) to have a good season. If we continued at our current rate we'd get 11 or 12 wins from home games. So we'd only need to win 1 or 2 away games. We may not do that, but the likelihood is we probably only need to win 3 or 4 away games to still have a successful season. We've been competitive in all of them so far bar Brentford and arguably Middlesbrough. No reason to think we won't pick up 3 wins away between now and end of season given we're only 1/3 of the way through our away games.

But away we've faced Norwich, Watford, Brentford and Bristol -all very strong teams. M'boro are mid-table and Barnsley are a bit lower but strong enough to be considered mid table, along with two 'poorer' teams in Forest and Derby whilst finding our feet in a higher division.

I'd have hoped we'd win one of those last two and get maybe 3 or 4 draws so if someone said we'd got 4-7 points I'd not be overly surprised. We've only picked up three but we now seem to be settling into the Championship.

It's nothing to get overly concerned about just yet.

If that’s your argument here then you’re effectively saying our fans make the players perform worse. Don’t think you’ve thought it through.
As a ST holder I'm am just saying the atmosphere is pretty poor.

Yes with or without fans.
Worse so than the Ricoh?

Without the lure of a big game I find the Ricoh a very poor atmosphere. The main differemce being, at the ricoh you get a lot of moans and groans and sighs. Even with the draw of a big game, a couple of stray passes or we don't have a great game amd the Ricoh can be a very tough place for our own team to play. It should be a fortress that is a horrible place for away teams to come to, not our own players.

LAST thinks the Ricoh is a combination of the yellow wall, Anfield on a European night, the eternal derby and the bombonera.
No I believe it's our rightful home.
I know plenty on here are happy at Brum, I will go to watch the team but dont have to like it, sorry but it is a shithole and a pain to get to.
