The whole block 36/37 issue was farcical though. Telling season ticket holders they couldn't sit in their own seats forcing people to stand in gangways was a nonsense. Hopefully this will be sorted.

I did feel a bit cramped in there, not moaning though.
Atmosphere good in there.
Got stung a fiver for a couple of bottles of pop before taking my seats.

Had a few drinks in the Roost before game which was good.
All the staff were really friendly and welcoming to us when we got there.

Not easy getting out in car after game but my own fault for getting car parking at kop side.

Positives:
Easy journey.
The Roost was a good pre-match pub which is something we definitely do not have at the Ricoh.
Atmosphere was good - if we can get 8k up there it would be rocking.
Totally positive fans. No boo boys.
Closer to away fans.
Staff/locals all friendly.
15 minute walk from city centre.

Negatives:
It's not in Coventry.
Big queues to get in.
Seats far too close together.
Too many people sitting in Singers Corner
(block F37).
£4.20 a pint in the ground.

Tbf the on street parking looked like it will be fine for most. There are plenty of suitable streets locally and I suspect that fear of damaged vehicles is more about perception (as it is, undeniably a shithole area) than based on reality.

I got a season pass in the main stand car park, left at the final whistle (never before!), and drove straight out from the car park (which is considerably smaller than the Ricoh so wouldn’t take long even if you weren’t the first back) and was home by 5.20pm (I live in brum).

As it’s a ‘home’ game for me I guess I should be happy, but would far rather we were at the Ricoh. In fact scrub that, I’d far rather we were at a nice, compact and suitably sized stadium with adequate parking, easy access by public transport and surrounded by pubs. In Coventry.

A man can dream.

Anyone clued up on finances?
We got around 5400 today. At the Ricoh last year we were averaging just over 12k.
When Robins intimates that he isn't sure how much he has spend of the Chaplin/bayliss money because of the groundshare.Does anyone know roughly how much money we lose by a 50% drop in attendance?

Well first of all, you can’t say our attendance today counting just the home fans, but say our attendance last season including away fans.

Roughly 50% at a guess (although we also get less per ticket so >50%).

Incidentally it was 6.5k not 5.5k today. Can see that increasing if things go well and people come back from their holidays.

So what was the crack with the comment from Ferret that fans were not allowed to sit in their ST seats. What happened there?

There was an issue with season tickets having being sold in b37, but when folks turned up b37 wasn’t open.

Given that there are 3 parties involved here (BCFC, CCFC and ticketmaster) there is obvious ground for fuckups. But I’d put money on the fact that ticketmaster fucked up.

Sat towards the front of block 35, too much arguing over seats and people standing up for my liking, so although the atmosphere was good will sit somewhere else next time. Also people constantly wandering up and down the stairs, I missed the tranquility of block 20. Didn't need barcodes on the tickets in the end either, unless they are going to scan the bits they ripped off later. Did season tickets get scanned?

Right so 5400 was us and Southend had a 1000k so yes still roughly 50%.
I am trying to work out what Robins will be left with from the reported 3 million (roughly). If the groundshare is the issue to him getting a share of the money. Trying to get an idea of what the groundshare will actually cost us and what he may have left over to play with. Although I do think if we have a successful season the attendance will rise.

Did you go? It made the Ricoh look slick.

Rumbled! Didnt go, just contrived the whole scenario so I could argue with people about how hard it is to buy a pie!

Seriously, sorry your experience wasn't as positive as mine and hope it doesn't put you or your kids off coming again.

Nope old fashioned turnstiles isnt it? Was where i went in block 26? Which leads me to think, why the barcode? Ricoh has barcode scanners just saying.....

If we get back to the Ricoh hopefully tickets will work there and we can get back our original seats

Who the hell goes to the match to stand in a que for 25 minuets instead of going there to watch the football?
The problem is you don't expect it to take 25 minutes. Then there is the knife edge moment where you have queued for over 10 mins so you then have committed and want to see it through. By this point you think it will only take a few more minutes and you don't want the 10 minutes you just done to be for nothing.

Didn’t mean it to sound all “do you even go bro”. Nah it was the only issue in the whole thing. I’ve got a thing for modern stadiums and creature comforts over nostalgia though.

what did you think?

I liked it, proper football ground and a good atmosphere today. Nice pubs on the way.

Much rather be in Cov but this is no Sixfields.

Can we lift up the ground and put it in Coventry city centre?

Good ground, the clubs clearly been made very welcome

It was a strange experience but not as bad as I thought it would be. Give me a stadium like that over the Ricoh any week. I hate all the flat pack bowl stadiums they are just so soulless.

the only issue I had was the turnstiles, I’m a larger lad, although never had any issues with turnstiles until today, ended up having to go through the family zone area to get in. Thank god I’ve lost some weight over the summer or else I would have been wedged in the turnstile

Yes the ground of course itself is so much better than the Foleshill shithole

What was the crowd vs Southend last season?

Don't think they even have scanners there. Bloke just looked at card... Probably would've been able to get in with last season's card I reckon
