I wouldn't object to a compromise to be honest but at the moment it seems Wasps, for all their talk of being understanding landlords, don't give a toss about us. It would not have been difficult to have the Wasps and CCFC logos be equal in size, to have CCFC alongside Wasps at the atrium entrance, a mix of both clubs in the tunnel etc. Even the seats there could probably be a compromise on if and when they are replaced.

The fact is Wasps have shown total disregard for CCFC and our fans. The interview in the CT shows that 'just ask and Wasps will say yes' theory holds no water. If this is what it's like after a few months what will it be like in a couple of years?

Talking compromise....I think the idea of wasp seat alternating with a sky blue seat would work without causing to much of an uproar...

Why would Wasps be bothered about another sporting club who are only here for a few years, am sure if SISU made a long term commitment to the Stadium then maybe they would agree to making the place look like it was home to both teams?
At present its two years, from what I can see Mr Fisher/ Mr Waggot are still not in discussions to extend this rental agreement.

I think it is that people seem to think we just need to ask Wasps nicely and they will help. Or we just need to commit long term and they will let us make the stadium look like it is our home. Wasps don't have to do anything, it is theirs which is why we need to get out to somewhere that is ours.

There's two ways of looking at this:

1) Wasps genuinely believe we are moving out, it is in their interest to be as gracious and accommodating as possible in the hope that we will then decide to stay resulting in more revenue for Wasps.

2) Wasps do not believe we are moving out, therefore they should be true to their word and having been in a similar position to us be as gracious and accommodating as possible.

Do not disagree Nick, but one of the thing our owners always let themselves down on is grasping any opportunity to sit down with people and discuss/ negotiate.
The new stadium concept is a none starter.

But Dave, either option has to be discussed, are our owners talking to Wasps?

I think SISU are hoping something will turn up before they have to renegotiate #nextShortTermDeadline

Why do we need another stadium in the City?

One that would be the club's, one where the memorial garden isn't overlooked by WE ARE WASPS signs as an example.

Why are people Ricoh or nothing? What is it about the Ricoh?

According to Wasps they are, and so far it seems everything the club has asked Wasps for has either bee refused or overpriced.

According to SISU it is somebody else's fault again. F**k me, do they ever accomplish anything themselves.

Not so sure any discussions are taking place are about anything long term, if the club committed to say next 20 years then the Wasps would have to make dicisions.

Monopoly supply = held over a barrel.

Let alone the decline to a sense of self that comes as a result.

Like how much to whack the rent up?

Read intheknow's posts to get an idea of Wasps thoughts about CCFC.

No.

But just because SISU are inept is no excuse to ensure the conditions exist to increase the likelihood of us only ever getting sons of SISU in the future.

Because noboby wants to be stuck with anything SISU forever!

Why on earth wouldn't you want more leisure facilities in the city. Why on earth isn't this a good thing to have more amenities?

Are all our leisure facilities used to full potential in the City?
If SISU built us a new stadium they would be competing against the Ricoh, also it's another major debt for the club and by time it's built we will have an even smaller fan base.

They wouldn't be competing against the Ricoh.

One would be a rugby stadium, one a football stadium.

Anyway, if the club did the football stadium better, thrived, reached its full potential and that thus saw Wasps move on elsewhere (again) that would be the enactment of the commercial survival of the fittest.

So be it.

Before the council love in started most were saying how much they hated the Ricoh and wanted a new stadium.

Now we have a Wasps love in and people proclaiming about how great they are and how ccfc have disregarded the fans. Are these people too thick to realise what they are saying? If sisu moved ccfc 90 odd miles the be outrage; yet it's ok for 'the wasps' to do it as it's good for business and its another stick to beat the football club with.

I get the feeling that most don't even want to imagine that happening. Especially the higher up people in the trust.

Asking would be a start. If you don't ask you don't get and we obviously need an extended deal because 2 years into a new stadium and Tims only just found the telephone number for a local authority.

Example....?

From what I've been told, by someone connected to ACL not someone connected to SISU, is that we asked for somewhere to use for storage so we could increase the merchandising and branding on match day and the response was that the Ricoh has no storage areas, something I find very hard to believe. Another example, from the same source, is that we have asked to use the card entry system with the response that a large administration fee would need to be paid.

One will have a hotel, conference facilities, exhibition space, a casino and restaurants etc. On it's door step, the other will be built by SISU. You're not wrong when you say we won't be in competition with them but not for the reason you outline. As for survival of the fittest, I wouldn't stake your life on us surviving for all the reasons I've already listed.

But to get a better stadium it will mean more debt, the only way it may have any potential is to be other side of the City to where we are now, inside the City boundary and look at a differernt kind of none football revenue, not conferences or exhibitions. However, this will involve even bigger debts.
Why not get SISU to build a big hotel near the Ricoh, put it in CCFC name, it will cost a lot less, be 365 day revenue, not compete but will get lots of business from the Arena.

Where does it end? Should CCFC start a car dealership as suggested or a Payday Loans business rather than actually trying to do it normally?

And we can flog off the training reund to open a wine bar too, get a few families in when they go to see Wasps.

Maybe sell Maddison and open a really massive Costcutter rival too, we could sell absolutely HUGE portions of cheese if Toulon come to town.

They already have a payday loan company lending to CCFC. It's called ARVO I believe. All SISU have to work out now is how to get a payday out of CCFC. Give them another 7 years and they may have accidentally stumbled over one by then.

The irony wasn't lost on me. Not heard 'em mention that though.

Remember when SISU took a mortgage out on the training ground? People went mental. Wasps take out a huge loan against the Ricoh and its fantastic business.
