Turkey, at least promote the debate. Gauge feeling. If Sisu see this it'll give them food for thought. It'll give the Football authorities food for thought.
We're being too passive.
You've got to give people credit for being able to weigh up the pros and cons.
It could be said - here are some possibilities - what do you think?
We all want to rescue our club back from Sixfields, but it worries me that we are sleepwalking to Christmas. The idea of a reborn CCFC is a big negotiating tool.

Problem the trust has, and don't get me wrong, I know it's frustrating because its frustrating for me and a lot of others too, if we (the trust) start a debate about forming a new club in whatever guise, and also call for Coventry to return to Coventry we will be accused of sending out mixed messages. Do we want cov in cov or a new cov etc.

Agreed. What you could do is say we fear CCFC may never return to the city so we are putting plans in place to get our history of CCFC back and to form a new club.

Like people have stated get the plans ready to go, but imo should only get the go ahead if CCFC is gone completely, but for me we're currently still in existence.

Happy to wait but let's not miss the bus with this. It needs to (and probably will) happen this season with or without the trust as there are enough people behind it. The trust board are in a tough position on this, I understand that, but the trust is about all its members not just the board and strategy moving forward should be decided by all members not just the few.

But as a board, tin hat on, we do get told things in confidence etc and have to make a choice when to use/ release the information we have for what we believe is the best interest of the fans.
Lets be clear on this, the trust members will ultimately make the decision of the trusts direction.
I believe that the majority of fans are not ready for a Phoenix club yet because we haven't lost the war to bring cov back to cov yet.
If a new club was formed just as a bargaining tool for a bit of posturing then that would be unfair to those who would be working to make it a reality.

If there is a reborn Coventry City AFC(My preferred name) there is nothing wrong with CCFC integrating(Under different owners) in the future. The City of Coventry deserve a football team that plays within the boundaries of the City of Coventry, and NOT outside. Surely, this is within the bounds of possibility?

I know this isn't going to be a popular post amongst the masses on this site but its Coventry City in its current guise or nothing for me. Any other club wouldn't feel like the club I grew up supporting and watching.

(I didn't say it was fact, just my belief) don't get me wrong, there is a ground swell of fans wanting this debated and as a trust we shouldn't ignore this. If any trust members are reading this and feel it should be on our agenda come to the next open meeting or e mail the trust and ask for a debate on it, it's your trust just as much as mine!

I'm a trust memebr I paid my £1, I'd happily pay more.

It's time for me to start playing a more active role in the future of football in Coventry.

So when is the next open meeting? How often do you have them?

I'm sorry but Coventry City Football Club is MY club and will be until the day I or it dies although i respect and applaud those being proactive and trying to do something to counter the turmoil and despair around the club at the minute.

The constitution of the Phoenix Club could read, if CCFC return to Coventry then the club would be disbanded.

There's also a mightily big stadium in Coventry being unused at the moment.

Lets do a bit of fantasy football here.

1. What are the running costs of a Football Club?
2. How many people would turn up to the Ricoh?
3. Which Football League could we get ourselves into?
4. What sort of football team could we make from the local Coventry talent.

If this is strangely profitable then it would have to be ran as a charity.

1. I doubt going into the lower division you would need any investment. I guess you wouldn't know until you hold trials of local players to what team strength you have.

2. Anyone who wants to see football in Coventry or a return to Coventry by CCFC. We can see once and for all if it is the attention by SISU to return the club to Coventry or just a play to get a stadium on the cheap.

3. Obviously if the Phoenix club starts, it would have to fulfill its fixtures for the whole season.

4. This is why we need to look at the idea.

On a serious note I personally think if you start you need to commit, however no reason some couldn't split loyalties (like a lot of FC United fans do) if City came back. It's a personal choice and every individual would have different feelings.
