Jack, this has got to be a contingency plan. Bottom of our hearts we want CCFC playing at the Ricoh and finally Sisu to go.
But if that doesn't happen a new Coventry City FC playing at the Ricoh has to be a plan. US, the fans, will know we are the true CCFC, whatever name we may choose.
Ideal scenario is, we get placed in Conference North/South or at worst, the league below. No debt, owned by us, at a superb ground. NO SISU. What heaven. With crowds between 6,000-10,000 we'll be well placed to get promotions and be back up where we are in 3 seasons. Viable, with fans who get to enjoy their team again. People will soon jump on the train.
And, it sends out the message to Sisu, WE are CCFC, not you and the 500 who go to Sixfields will soon realise what they've done. A team playing here would kill of this Northampton debacle. We could reclaim our history, just as Wimbledon did.
I stress, this is a contingency plan. But we must have it. Not ideal, I realise. But fans acting together will force the issue. I don't think us fans realise how much power we have working together.

one of the guys at work is a Rushden fan and says no lower than Southern League Premier because of the potential travelling fans lower than this and there are problems.Spot on!!! just not sure how feasible it is to start where you say. I suspect it would be in a league a hell of a lot lower.

I keep saying it, health & safety issues will not allow "Coventry" to play in a league where they'd take 1000's away to grounds used to hosting 50-100. How high you start in the pyramid will be determined by how many ST tickets you sell. You would be a special case. SPL Gretna went "pop" but Rangers didn't start in the lower highland league.
Rushden and Diamonds actually play at The Dog and DuckCovkid, a few have said the FA have discretion in where they place you. They would know that we have decent support. Two or three thousand turning up at the Dog & Duck FC ground wouldn't be on. They'd have that in mind. A club of our stature in this trouble is unique I'd say.
Even Wolves, when they dropped to the bottom division, weren't in this trouble.
I don't know is the answer, but I'd be optimistic that we'd get at worst, the division below Conference North. So from there, 4 straight promotions with an enthusiastic support, we'd be back where we are. SISU Northampton will likely have ceased to exist. We could dance on their grave. And get our club back.
I'm in. Fuck Northampton Sky Blues and anyone who turns up to see them at 'home'.
Form our own club.
Away this season because its too late to join any league for the coming season that way you wont get out of the habit of going to a gameWhat about "away"
What about "away"

So about 8500 will be out of the habit of going to games before setting up a new club next season
It's a big 'if' for us to return. Not that I think SISU intend to develop Coventry into a franchise but I think their poor management of the whole thing will mean CCFC as we know it will vanish!
Right now ACL are still trying to bring CCFC back to the Ricoh.. in the meanwhile they're keeping their powder dry about the potential to bring a new club to the stadium.
Well if Coventry move to Northampton and have the sort of weak crowds everyone anticipates isn't it time to do some market research?
ACL could see how many people are prepared to express an interest on buying a season ticket for a true Coventry owned club starting at the Ricoh next season.
If the numbers saying yes are sufficient then clearly they can cut ties with SISU and let them continue with their folly.
I knew a couple of people who were involved with AFC Wimbledon from their earliest days. From what I remember, Wimbledon had to apply to their local association for membership and it was they who decided at what level they would start, so it night have to be somewhere in the Midland Football Combination.
Supporting AFC Wimbledon during their rise, was evidently hugely enjoyable. From being minnows, in the leagues they had become used to, Wimbledon fans were now following a big fish. Promotion, nearly, every year, taking thousands to grounds that barely saw 100 every other match-day and setting new attendance records throughout those leagues.
Sounds a lot more fun to me than the gloom CCFC supporters can expect if SISU are in charge for another 10 years.
Could well be heres the alternative we play in Northampton for 3,4,5 or more years lose about 8500 no kids going so no future support :thinking about:
Most people on here and the ones that not keep saying my club this my club that',I think its been proved over the last few months that this is not our club and never really was or will ever be. We have no say or should I say haven't had, this is our chance like 130 years ago when a few lads from a Coventry firm decided to form a football club it was theirs it could be ours something to be proud of not embarrassed about. Something that in years others can say we're proud of those Coventrians for sticking it to the man.
Not united or anything else just COVENTRY play in Sky Blue play in Coventry sing all our songs involve OUR community help our businesses show we are not going to lie down and be walked over by a bunch of arseholes. If you're not in the Trust join show the strength that we have fuck these twats. If you're concerned about the "history" dont be the history of CCFC is in OUR hearts the memories are in OUR memory not theirs. If we do this are we going to be any worse off than sticking with these leaches? I dont think so it might actually be enjoyable and how long has it been since we've been able to say that. sorry for rambling but Ive had a couple of drinks
