Yet more talk about starting afc united Pheonix whatever and playing at the Ricoh!

Ha ha. How could we have a new club when every other week thousands will be trying to buy tickets for the real Coventry city based at Sixfields.

"thousands" really <giggle>

Well that's what everyone on here keeps claiming. Every other week there will be a mad scramble for tickets to support Coventry cobblers sisu.

I would risk the indignity of following a club in Cov if it meant playing in the city. Haskell et al are well placed to kick start any new club.

Thousands??? I'd that's what you think however I would beg to differ. If SISU hang around I will tell you now, a new club would have a bigger following, fact.

You could be half right, Grendel. It would not be easy to start a Phoenix club. However, I'm not sure that 'thousands' will be trying to buy tickets for Sixfields. You don't seem to understand the strength of feeling against this move. Or is the opinion of the majority of posters on this site at odds with the feelings of most CCFC supportes?

Don't rise. He is on a weekend wind up.

So people are lying when they keep saying we will sell out starting with the first game?

I think Grendal means away tickets.

Indeed! Away support apparently will be record levels. That will give sisu comfort that support will return once the club comes back and shows a new club will never have the same appeal.

The not one penny more is for some a cynical excercise in self righteousness. Allowing supporters to watch the club they call sisu fc every other week while criticising others who do the same.

I for one will not be going to away matches, sixfields, the Ricoh with Sisu as owners or will I purchase merchandise. I for one would have interest in a new club should Fisher and his chums stick around.

No one is lying but if you can manage to get 7000 at the Ricoh that would be a sell out at Northampton.

Well I predict if SISU move to Sixfields there will be crowd of over 7000 at the Ricoh this season if a match is organised to coincide with a CCFC 'home' fixture.

I'll look forward to the day..

That would be worth going to. The leisurely walk up to see our side.......lose. But a damn site better than following Northampton b team

What about if a Phoenix Ricoh fixture coincides with a ccfc away fixture?

AFC Wimbledon fans didn't go to MK Dons away games while they were rebuilding.

A Phoenix club will only work if it is accepted as a continuation of CCFC.

The whole point of a rebirth is to take our club back, to do that we have to fully commit to the rebirth as CCFC.

IMO sisu f.c is the breakaway club, not us, they are the ones talking about breaking away from the city, and from the fans i.e. abandoning the club.

If you support a reborn Coventry, now is the time (with tuesday's negotiations in mind) to support, like and share the Coventry 1883 campaign!

Could never support a Phoenix club as long as there is a ccfc, my heart just wouldn't be in it. So thanks but no thanks

Grendel is right, of course. A new club will never work unless fans stop going to away games too. They need to stop going to see CCFC 'home' and away, just cut them loose.

That could be the biggest barrier to a new club in the city. Die hard fans. SISU will play around with them for years.

Wimbledon moved permanently to Milton Keynes and re-franchised and renamed the club to MK Dons i.e. Wimbledon FC did not exist.

CCFC still exists albeit temporarily playing elsewhere.

There's a subtle difference in there somewhere.

I do not accept that ccfc is dead even if you have already given up.

If somebody stole your car would you buy a new one?

Poor analogy - this thread is about why some people who are so anti sisu and pro starting a new club still want to watch a sisu funded CCFC every other week. It's clearly an embarrasing truth as no one will actually answer the question raised.
