And this guy has by no stretch put pen to paper yet. So again, I'll never hold my breath until I see them in the shirt. Sounds like this guy would at least be useful on a free. Let's see.

Would be a good signing IMO! Better than Deegan, not too worried about his size if he isnt scared to get stuck in! Like someone said earlier, Wise wasnt the tallest!

If we do end up signing him, officially he'll have left a Champions League club to join us.

Sounds promising, that would leave us 2/3 signings off having a squad which can compete. We could do that with season loans

I'd prefer it like this:

------- Jennings Kilbane
Elliot-------Fleck---------McSheff
----------Mcdonald

No Conor Thomas though?

Don't know much about Elliott, but I think baker is going to have a very good season for us (finally) and i would stick him on the right. Otherwise looks good!

I quiet like the fact that the above team doesnt have bell or baker in it

might make the realise that they have to work for their place

Hence why he won't.

He has alread refused a new contract at Motherwell so has already turned down playing in Europe so he can move to England. The Scottish signings are a good plan to me as they play a similar way to Div3

I signed him on Football Manager once - he was Premiership class.

I signed him in it for Nuneaton when Tranmere released him! He was L1 class, just.

NLHWC , do you find it strange when Dads name there son the same as themselves!!, (perhaps Nick will create a poll), any way if his son is half the keeper Pat snr was, he will do very well. Can you remember the size of Pat snr's hands, they were massive

The Rev

It's never healthy, is it? The George Bushes being the obvious one!

I don't think Pat Jnr really made the grade-decent Irish league backup at best. Most of his games were at UCD, who are a big club in the way that Wigan are in the EPL..big hands or not, I think we're best off with Murphy!

In other words if he scores it will be from 30 yards. Son has been on phone to his mates in Glasgow. They are all unhappy he is leaving them. Says a much better signing than Fleck. We would have someone to run the midfield.

Unlike last season under Clingan where we had someone to ruin the midfield.

Career

Tranmere Rovers

He joined Tranmere's Centre of Excellence in 1998 and progressed through the youth ranks. He was a key part of the Rovers youth team that reached the FA Youth Cup Semi Finals in 2002–03. He made his first team debut on 18 October 2003 against Oldham Athletic. Later that year he suffered a knee ligament injury when he was hit by a car outside his home.
Jennings re-established his place at Tranmere during the 2007–08 season, appearing in all but five league matches, usually partnering Paul McLaren in the centre of midfield. He had an excellent season with many fans praising his high work rate and willingness to make challenges. He won the Players' Young Player of the Season award at the end of the season.
Hereford United

In the 2006–07 season, Jennings had little starting opportunities with several other central midfielders vying for a place in the team. Therefore he was loaned to Hereford United in January 2007. He impressed at Edgar Street, which led to his loan being extended to the end of the season.
Motherwell

On 1 July 2009, he signed for Motherwell in a one-year deal. Jennings scored his first goal for Motherwell in a 3–1 loss to St Johnstone on 26 December that year.[1] On 1 July 2011, he signed a new one-year contract extension keeping him at Motherwell for the 2011-12 season.[2]
The Association of British Bookmakers investigated "suspicious betting patterns" on a red card being shown to Jennings for dissent during a game in December 2010.[3] Jennings was arrested, along with eight other men, on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud in October 2011.[4] A week later, his club confirmed that he would continue to be available for first-team selection.[5] Merseyside Police advised Jennings in April 2012 that their inquiries had ceased and that no further action would be taken.[6] His solicitor said that Jennings felt vindicated in believing that there had been no criminal activity.[6] After the police ended their investigation, Motherwell manager Stuart McCall criticised unnamed Scottish football officials who had suggested that Jennings should have been suspended while under suspicion.[7]
