At arm wrestling maybe but not at football. It's like saying your beard is bushier than Brian Bleesed's.
Better players we have this season:
Reda
Hines
Pugh
O'Brien
Swanson
Coulibaly
Jackson
Nouble
McQuoid
Tudgay
Miller
For me we have only been severely weakened in goal and arguably at right back.
It's is ultimately Pressley's fault if he cannot utilise these players properly.
Incorrect. We stopped pressing the ball, passing and trying to play off the forwards.
Tudgay is the first one that made me laugh, who is he stronger than? the kit man maybe? one of the smaller ball boys?
No, we still tried to play an attacking game until we brought in prutton and Robinson. We couldn't play an effective pressing or play off the striker because we had no Clarke. Something had to change because we were in freefall. You can blame Pressley if you want as you do know more about football than Pressley, me or anyone else on here but stats from 19/04/14 show the massive impact Clarke had on the team and the way we played. Note that we continued to concede at the same level as when Clarke was here, mainly because we continued to try to play open attacking football for too long afterwards. Pressley should have made tactical changes far earlier
Leon Clarke here (up to last league game he played (league games only)) - Played 26 win 12 (46% win ratio) draw 8 lost 6 GF 55 (2.16 gfpg) GA 45 (1.73 gapg) points 44 (1.69 ppg)
No Leon Clarke - played 17 won 4 (23.5% win ratio) draw 3 lost 10 points 17 (1 ppg) GF 17 (1 gfpg) GA 29 (1.70)
Looks like Leon Clarke was vital to me...

Good player being completely isolated in the system, he is a finisher not a creative midfielder.
Besides the forward line , we are stronger . Players are simply being played out of position ...pugh, obrien , swanson , clarke , and as a unit are not adapting well to the new system . Thats a manager issue , obrien and swwanson are wide men , pugh is too old to play wing back , clarke has never played it , our strikers cant be judged as they are having absolutely no service .
You missed the question that followed your assertion. Is he better than Clarke or Wilson?

Yes my apologies , murphy is far superior to alsopIs Allsop being played out of position? You're saying he's better than Murphy, it's all about opinions I suppose.
Given the opportunity he could score the same amount of goals as them. As I've stated previously neither Clarke nor Wilson would score at the same rate in this system, they just wouldn't get the chances.
Lose tomorrow then at crewe , you have the easy task of bristol city oldham away and peterborough in the space of a week , could be a telling month for pressley , im sure all our fans on here will still love him if we do poorly
I remember writing a post at the end of last season basically saying if Pressley doesn't start the season well (well being a combination of good results and performances) then regardless of the off the field problems or lack of transfer activity (although we've actually signed good players) he could well get the bullet. In a similar way to Guy Whittingham at Pompey and the shit he had to go through, yet after an average run at the start of the league 2 season and with basically a new squad he was sacked. It's just how football operates in this era, anyone who thinks Pressley can't be sacked is naive.
I don't recall any posts stating he can't be sacked.
Tbh look at the amount of average strikers that have scored for fun in this league over the last three seasons. Given the service all of our strikers could get into double figures. Look at Matty Done of Rochdale (he's a midfielder) and Eoin Doyle of Chesterfield, damn average players and they are currently banging them in.
On a few different threads people have said it.
Like our midfielder Moussa last year, who is not as strong as players we have this year. Pressley must have been a genius last year to get the best out of those inferior players.
I'll work on the basis that that's a lie, or you've misread.
I quite like the idea of a new manager as there are many out there that could do a better job imo.
For example:
Gary Rowett (Burton)
Paul Tisdale (Exeter)
Mark Yates (Cheltenham)
Paul Cook (Chesterfield)
Keith Hill (Rochdale)
John Still (Luton)
We should definitely look at getting a new manager at least once a season, it's this sort of rotation that has served us so well in the past. '3 losses in a row and your out' should be our club motto.
I said it in the context of the squad being better, less so one individual being better than another. Who's to say Jim couldn't get that amount of goals playing in the same role as the moose, he's played consistently at a higher level than Moussa so why not?...I TELL YOU WHY BECAUSE HES BEING FUCKED IN THE 5-3-2.
So there's no actual evidence that the squad is stronger this year, just supposition, whereas there is evidence that the squad last year was stronger, more goals, players wanted by better clubs.
Well there is, we have a selection of better footballers imo (based on their history, what other teams fans have said about them and my interpretation of watching them play). Clarke, Wilson and Moussa were not superstar footballers at the start of last season. To say they are better or we were stronger after the event is pointless and foolish, in no way was I or anyone else backing Wilson or Moussa to have the season they did (many were tipping Clarke as his form in the back end of the previous season had suggested he would deliver). What I am saying now (before the event has occurred) is that this squad, deployed in a less defensive manner and played in the correct positions is good enough to at least make the play offs.
So the current players can be better based on their history at previous clubs, but talking about the players we had previously isn't allowed, it's foolish and pointless.
I think we should get Alan Shearer in, I've heard many a good word from his previous clubs.
You've misunderstood what I'm saying. Alan Shearer is a good shout, but not in a 5-3-2 ok. View attachment 3831
