Thorn was a problem in the same way that Shaw and Carsley are.

They, like him, are too willing to accept mediocrity, but clamp down on it with soundbites in the press.

At least it puts another myth to bed, Andy Thorn is a brilliant scout, fuck me!

Jennings = Deegan Mk II

Barton= Bell without the commitment

Ball = Clive Platt without the movement

For the first time in my life I think I would rather see Coventry City Ladies perform at the Ricoh at least the show a bit of desire, passion and determination for the game. I'm done with blaming officials and bad decisions, it work's equally for every team who play football. We can't even blame Shaw because at the end of the day he's making the most out a bad situation. I think anybody to come and manage this club at the moment would be crazy.

Just watched the game again (fortunately was able to fast forward most of it).

I agree Kilbane was lucky not to see red.

Poor positioning by Clarke to allow their player to have to initial shot that lead up to their first first goal, but I can agree with Murphy about the offside appeals. Yes their man was running towards goal and in an offside position, however he didnt interfere with play IMO. And if the only way he would have been in Murphy's way is if Murphy attempted to save the ball. As he didn't, I can't agree with his argument

It was enough to put him off in my opinion. I don't see how any player in an offside position in the 6 yard box when a goal is scored isn't interfering with play. He diverted the keepers glance for a start. Its a stupid rule open to too much interpretation.

They showed a good view of the stevenage goal at half time if you still have it on record.

That's how I'm watching them again. I agree with the panel. The rule is too open! It should just be of your offside, your offside! But then that's just my view! Bet they didn't always have debatable goals like this in the 60's! Or was it that they were never highlighted?

Just seen the winning goal and I think Murphy's issue with Clarke was that he left his post! Which is a fair argument in that case
