Sheaf starts for me all day, as long as he's passed fit. He's a game ready animal, shown it before. Some fire power to bring on after 60/65 mins also!!!!It does appear on paper a good opportunity for us to get off to a good start away from home. But don't get complacent.
EMC starts over Wright for me. Torp over Allen.

Is that a list of injuries or a list of bang average championship players . I work with a Stoke fan and every season he bemoans their transfer activityLooks like Stoke’s injuries are mounting.
Pearson
Maaee
Rose
Stevens
Gallagher
Junho
they will have only two fit centre backs and one striker who scored one goal last season.
That's one sexy line up with a very attractive bench too.It does appear on paper a good opportunity for us to get off to a good start away from home. But don't get complacent.

The only player Id be bothered about there is Junho who seems to be their playmaker and voted plyer of the season by them. Hes currently doubtful due to illness. Hopefully hes still sitting on the toilet on SaturdayIs that a list of injuries or a list of bang average championship players . Stoke always pick up results early on?I can see a great game incoming, cant count Stoke out they do always seem to pick up results early on, and always seem to pick up some surprise points, however I cant look past my previous prediction of 2-0 to the Sky Blues with Simms and Torp to score.
The only thing that isnt certain abkut the lineup it seems is the EMC and Haji debate, to me it has to be Haji to start because afterall he was one of the top scorers in the Championship last season let alone for us, its currently his place to lose, it would be harsh to drop him. But EMC is a good good player so you cant have any negatives if he does start instead.

He’s had 3 weeks of pre season / plus training on and off in June.I can't see how he can start personally. Practically no pre-season.
There's absolutely no need to rush him back either . We have Rudoni,Eccles,Torp ,Allen and even Palmer or Andrews who can coverCan't see Sheaf starting even if he's trained, he's barely had a pre season
He will be on the bench and get 25 minutes I reckon, looking to start v Oxford and give him an hour
As long as we don't go back to discussing players being picked or benched according to what they costSurely it's a blank sheet for the squad as a new season? It's not about who is the best player at this point. It's about who is the fittest and can perform at the level for 60/70 mins.
If we are starting Jamie Allen I don’t see how anyone can argue we’re not desperately short of midfielders.
Jamie Allen has been great in pre season and should be given a blank slate after his heart and injury issues last season. I'd imagine if Sheaf is out he will start Saturday as captain.Exactly what I was thinking.
I agree with @procdoc’s line-up but when you see it written down it’s interesting to see we’ve only added Rudoni (which was Callum previously) and Dovin to the starting 11. I think I won the award for bedwetter of the season () so maybe it’s just me, but now I’ve seen it written down I realise we’ve only added depth up front and no depth defensively or even much outstanding quality to the starting 11 (you could say Rudoni is way better than O’Hare but I want to give him a few league games first before judging either way).
Jamie Allen is a consistent performer at this level and a player Robins clearly rates . Once Sheaf is fit he will likely be 5th choice for midfield and if we sign another cm even further down the pecking order. If we are to have a serious push this season having Allen available to rest others and replace others in games will be invaluable over the course of the season . I can't remember many times he's let us down and feel he's being very unfairly judged on a injury hit season.Exactly what I was thinking.

Funny club aren't they - They have spent an eyewatering amount of money since they got relegated to not finish outside the bottom half
If the Bet365 mob weren't so generous as owners they'd have gone to the wall years ago
One being a 4-0 winStoke always pick up results early on?
They won 2 in 8 start of last year...

That’s a positive though. We’re not having to replace lots of departing loans. We’re just adding quality and depth. Rudoni is a big upgrade on O’Hare. Our additions are all upgrades.Exactly what I was thinking.

refer to my original comment, he's a c**tA reasoned and thoughtful view, people on the street attempting to burn a hotel accommodating people and injure police officers, how the fuck do you expect him to respond.

Agree with thatSwansea at home…
I like Allen and he is a really good player to have in the rotation. He’s technically proficient and has a lot of energy to press teams. We did miss him at times last season when the fixtures piled up.
That all said, he is punching above his weight in this squad. Not in a nasty way, but we signed him in L1 and suspect this may well be his last dance with us.
against Rotherham on the opening dayOne being a 4-0 win
They won 3 of the first 4. Only losing to Ipswich.Stoke always pick up results early on?
They won 2 in 8 start of last year...

right so youre counting the league cup. They won 3 of the first 4. Only losing to Ipswich.
I'd say thats a pretty good start.
Look at our run at the back end of last season.Stoke always pick up results early on?
They won 2 in 8 start of last year...
Bet365 are the exact kind of owners most football clubs would love to have. A sugar daddy (family now) supporter who is happy to fund the club.
My Stoke supporting mate reckons that if FFP weren’t a thing, they’d outspend everyone to get promotion. Perhaps a tad exaggeration but they have a lot of money.
