We didn't play very well at Stoke last season yet came away with a win. Our record there is pretty good. All the signs point to an away win but I can't help but feel we'll draw 1-1.

Loss and a meltdown. Wouldn’t be a new season without it.
Going a goal down will result in the Samaritans hot lines being on fire as the usual suspects on here fall into a spiral of complete despair. ‘Relegate us now’ was something I read on here a few seasons ago during our 4th game after an early goal against us.

A draw away from home is usually a decent result,

However, given we're playing an injury ravaged and (lets be honest) pretty poor Stoke side, I think anything less than 3 points would be seen as very disapointing.

I'm not saying a meltdown, bed wetting, MR out or toy throwingly bad result, just a disapointing first game to what is a very long season.

But ...... I think this preseason has been far better than our previous couple of seasons, and I think we're actually up to speed and ready to go for once, and our squad has the depth we've previously lacked, so I see us having way to much for Stoke and I see us winning this one comfortably.

The only issue might be managing the fans expectation levels once we get off to a flyer!

When we are expected to lose we play well but when we are expected to win we usually feck it up. Quietly optimistic but anything can happen in football. Just keep all 11 on the pitch. No rushes of blood to nervous heads🤞

Incorrect on both counts, it was after conceding at Watford in the second half I believe

Plenty of time to let Sheaf and Rodrigues get back to fitness. I wonder if we’ll see either on Tuesday.

Under the same circumstances in terms of injuries/missing players, I would be slightly more confident if we were playing them at home. These are the types of games we typically lose when we are expected to win. I really want us to be level-headed and put in a professional performance and get a win. Think EMC has to start on the left in place of Wright. Sheaf will be a big miss, but have a feeling MR will go with Eccles in his place with Torp and Rudoni rounding out the midfield trio.

What’s wrong with Rodrigues? Have we signed a total crock?
