How are you so confused at that formation?

The midfield choices just aren't balanced. I suspect Robins doesn't trust Palmer, Torp or Rudoni enough defensively (yet) to start 2 of them together so as soon as Sheaf is out, in comes Allen

Not a criticism and whilst I get the work rate thing I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever seen Allen make a tackle.

That game was crazy.
It was embarrassing not to win. It was even worse seeing them get smashed week after week and we couldn't do the same.

Loss and a meltdown. Wouldn’t be a new season without it.

I’ve just caught up with the numerous (now mostly closed) threads on the off topic.

The expected post match meltdown will seem like nothing after that!*

*not that there will be one tomorrow as I’m expecting a good result and performance!

The squad looks strong. The one thing we have to avoid is a poor start to the season and the early fixtures are fairly good. We should be top six with the players we have - I’d be surprised if we aren’t

Agreed Grendel, too many false starts last few seasons, now time to let this stronger squad show their worth

4 hour drive up from Poole done, like a kid on Xmas Eve now I'm here.

Any news on away pubs tomorrow yet? Never been to Stoke before.

It will be interesting who is left out of the squad, which is a sign of depth. Unless there is any injuries, I would assume the subs will be Collins or Wilson, Latibeudiere, Da Silva, one of Torp, Eccles or Allen, Palmer, EMC or Wright and Asante-Thomas. That would mean Tavares would not be involved.
When Sheaf is fit and Kitching available it will be even more competitive.

Can have 9 subs

This is the first season where if you’re calling for Robins head after ten games, you might find me agreeing with you.

Agree with most thoughts on the starting line up. Think it will be Eccles and Allen with Rudoni and upfront Tats Simms and EMC purely because Wright not match fit. Subs thinking Collins, Dasilva, Lati, Torp, Wright, BTA, Tavares and Palmer, for the 9th thinking possibly Andrews

I worry about Allen starting, he's a bit of a liability on the ball at times.

Agreed but I do have a theory

Eccles, whilst improving massively last season, looks poor without Sheaf. Alongside Sheaf, Eccles is able to play more freely, advance more. When Sheaf isn't alongside him Eccles never seems as assured for me

However what it does show is we absolute need another CM in. An injury to Sheaf and we're starting Jamie Allen
