Not a great half but we're up against a motivated team away on first day of season. We ain't got going at all and it's still level.

Keep the faith

Faith is still there. Just saying it’s been shite

We're crying out for Eccles and Palmer on for Torp and Allen.

Wright for EMC after the hour, and maybe BTA for Simms.

Once we settle down a bit we'll get the breakthrough.

Last week Stoke were supposed to be shitting themselves at the thought of playing us after the 2-1 friendly defeat, now they are looking the better team after 45 minutes

Midfield has rushed everything. We looked better when we slowed it down. Allen is treating the ball like a hot potato every time he gets it

Not impressive at all. Bullied a bit and only Simms as an outlet means constant pressure. Changes needed fairly soon methinks.

We played a lot of poor first halves last season and this looks no different. I'm sure we'll look better with some changes in the second

Not playing Eccles is very strange. If he's not carrying a knock then it's a bizarre decision from Robins.

Need to get him on at half time. Maybe take Saka off and put Rudoni on the right, with Eccles, Allen and Torp in the middle. We need an extra body there.

Being outmuscled. These silly pass backs just bringing pressure. Torp and Allen not working as pair.

Would probably take a draw if you offered it to me now.

Eccles needs to be on for Allen and be the sitting midfielder.

Torp needs to be allowed to play slightly further forward because defensively he might as well not exist.

EMC and Sakamoto need to be coming in-field and demanding the ball, as I’m not sure hugging the touchline trying to stretch them is actually doing anything.

Slightly deflating, that.

No support for Simms, no hint of a press, no control in midfield.

Plenty for Robins to work on here.

Really disappointing. I was expecting so much more. Can't string a few passes together. Midfield looking so weak.
Think we will need the directness of Thomas-Asante soon and bring Eccles on for Allen or Torp.

Midfield non existent. Stoke seem to be able to pick it up, turn and drive at us every time putting us on the back foot. Obvious scapegoat but Allen looked to get out muscled, he's also marking an absolute unit for corners which is a worry nobody has picked that up.

Okay, so where do we start with that?

Have to say, Stoke have looked very decent. They have been stronger and their passing has been crisp and have shown good movement.

They are harrying us and winning the ball back almost every time we have it.

We have helped though. Lots of mistakes and EMC and Saka have been anonymous. Torp has hardly featured either

I would say that only MVE and Simms have looked decent. Little flashes here and there from Rudoni.

Unless we improve (confident we will), we will most certainly lose this game.

I would definitely be bringing Eccles on if it was me.
