I've just looked and I can't see a single u23 that has made a first team appearance. (Assuming jpt doesn't count as it's their u23 team that appears).

So given that they then have 26/27 first team players beyond that. 5 out injured that we know. Is 8/9 positive cases really far fetched if they have all been at a party? Doesn't seem like it given the numbers being seen at other clubs that high also.

It's entirely self inflicted. As far as I'm concerned with their obscene overspending it just levels the playing field

Some are on the squad list to get squad numbers aren't they?

Where does it say they need to have a single minute of first team experience? Brighton had to put a load of kids with no minutes on the bench last night

I can't see where it mentions having a squad number means they count? I may be mistaken I have only read the ccfc article.

Just a reminder that being registered and having squad number are different, if that's your line of thinking

So what? Players shouldn't be able to enjoy the freedoms that the rest of the country have? Seems a rather ridiculous argument to me. Plus didn't somebody say the party was 2 weeks ago? So before Omicron was even really a massive deal the players should have been observing rules the rest of the country aren't?

Should they also cancel all family gatherings over Xmas?

It does also say anyone else otherwise available to play

Nowhere did I say it should have been disallowed-just that the consequences of having a big party with no mitigations runs that risk and it's a voluntary one.

They have cancelled the game so when the fixture is played they should only be able to use players that are currently in the squad new signings should be unavailable

You just said first team appearance? League cup games are first team games, it's not the u23 in the JPT

I'm just going on what you said.

You just said it didn't mention it at all a second ago? But I was wrong when appearances it specifies league games in the EFL text.

You said one first team appearance your own fucking words

Also " or any other contracted player not on the squad list but otherwise would have been eligible to play."

The have 14 players

Yes it was but it doesn't mean they should be punished here because they did what everyone else is doing in my view.

Yes I did, and as I literally just said in the post you quoted. I was wrong it specifies league games. I know those words are foreign to you.

You do realise you just cut out the rest of the sentence right, which connects to having made a league appearance. So the contracted player still needs to have made a league appearance.

Edit: I'm not 100% on that last point I made actually. But the other interpretation is that it could be players like jobello who are technically eligible to play but not registered? But not 100% on the meaning of the last point but that's how I read it.

Massive financial burden for away fans

Im probably being thick but what do you mean? Some trains might be a bit more expensive due to the short notice but apart from that, I don’t see what the difference is for away fans?

Boring weekend coming up. Bloody hell, Stoke, you had one job! Plenty of time for the Cardiff game to go pop as well.

If a load of the Stoke players have caught it, some could be suffering for weeks - may still affect them adversely, plus some of their players are out for quite a while iirc (Sawyers, Powell for sure)
