ExactlyWho are they?
If that's the case then I don't understand the strategy at all. Firstly for the club who have invested in the development of many of these youngsters from an early age. And secondly for the players themselves, it's a shallow reward and token of thanks for having the ability, application and determination to reach this stage. What incentive is there for lads who are maybe 2 or 3 years earlier in their development to stick at it with us if this is the likely reward?Apparently they only offered the 7 one year contracts each. That's an absolute joke and gives no security whatsoever for the player or the club.
Jordan Ponticelli has scored 31 times this season and is one of the hottest prospects about outside of the Premier League and we only offered him one year?
Can't blame any of them for moving on.

Oh bugger, shit etc!Believe this ones done. Now following Stoke U23 players + Stoke accounts on Twitter which is normally the first sign of a move you can get as a fan unless you're ITK.
I just can't work out if it's purely a consequence of relegation or other instability. If that's the case then I don't understand the strategy at all. Nor me Wingy. Would have thought the opportunities for academy players/first year pros to break into the first team are much greater at L2 level. Plus any success with them in the team reduces the reliance on loans over time. So surely win win?I just can't work out if it's purely a consequence of relegation or other instability.
If only SISU protected their investment in the academy the way they protect the sort of investment in the club through ARVO. What a mess.
Yes, I'm sure we would all like to see all 7 of them continuing their development in the first team whenever the coaching staff deem they are ready. Appreciate that we dont really know whats going on behind the scenes but it would be a great shame all round if this doesn't happen.

Pessimism is a coping mechanism with CCFC mate, expect the worse and it won't be quite that bad when it happens.Let's hope we're being overly pessimistic and are jumping the gun.
Coventry City teenager running out of patience with Stoke City
Coventry City teenager Chris Camwell is reportedly running out of patience as he awaits a possible move to Stoke City.
Reports in Coventry suggest the 18 year-old left back is leaning towards signing a new deal with the Sky Blues after becoming frustrated with the lack of transfer activity.
The Bedworth-born youngster, who is out of contract this summer, is apparently keen to settle his future ahead of pre-season training in a fortnight.
This is good news for us and him in my opinion. He'd probably be sitting in the reserves stagnating at Stoke and end up going backwards whilst he could well play a fair few first team games for us this season getting better all the time. WIN WIN in my eyes.
Stoke City could miss out on Coventry City teenagerwhere does it say hes staying?
Indeed-and hopefully we can also wave goodbye to the awful Haynes.Well that would be great news if he signs, as Stokes/Camwell are more than good enough to cover left back.
Great newsHe's signed his new contract today.
Signed a 2 year contract. That left back sorted with Stokes and Cramwell.
