Where have you read he needs an OP?That's a big problem.
The only reason we stayed up two years ago was that he replaced Haynes at left back.
Now letting Martin go looks really dumb. Surely we've not got Haynes in defence for the foreseeable future - trouble ahead.
We need to replace him with a loan player. Can't see us now signing anyone on a permanent. If we can get a loan to Jan at least that might help greatly.they were talking about an op in April - why only now!!
hes effectively out until xmas
our defence is weak, but god help us if we get another injury or 2!! I think Mowbray will be playing
Yep looks like poor planning by us or bad medical advice
We will miss him no doubt
What with Willis being Injury prone we're headed for trouble.
when did they first find out about the injury, am I right in thinking it was the beginningAnother stupid gamble to go for an injection rather than the op. They knew about this injury at the end of last season, he should have gone for surgery then.
Managers never learn, these gambles rarely pay off, either they've no idea of the odds or they are compulsive gamblers.

His position strengthens as his body weakens at the thought of impending exertion.Looks like Reda's position strengthens by the day IMO
Do you reckon he's been sticking pins in dolls.Looks like Reda's position strengthens by the day IMO
Guessing Stokes was to be part of back three.Thought we was interested in that West Ham left back?
I seen what you did there ha ha knee jerkWhat we don't need now is a knee jerk Peter Ramage style player coming in.
I accept it was an emergency last time, but I would rather a young Premier loan player than a washed up guy who was playing somewhere in the Middle East or wherever it was.

Absolutely agree. But all managers do it. They are always trying to get games out of players when they are less than fit. Remember the days of the routine pain-killing injections. It is very short-term, but managers are usually only there short-term so they gamble. As you say, they never learn, but there is little incentive to do the right thing.Another stupid gamble to go for an injection rather than the op. They knew about this injury at the end of last season, he should have gone for surgery then.

Would have been good to stokes in his best position part of a back three.
Makes signing those CB's more important now.
Would have like to see Vincelot still around as he could have covered CB
And finch, although I think hes injured tooLeaves us with Willis, Ricketts, Harries and at a push Leaghy as centre back options.
They are all crap to you.He was crap as a centre back - as bad as Haynes at left back.
He wasn't playing anywayThey are all crap to you.
The problem we now have is we had a weak defence that let us down last season, and it seems even weaker this term.
Can I change my prediction on the matchday thread
That makes it worse.......He wasn't playing anyway

100% agree with this. Mowbray must have confidence in players like Kelly-Evans, Harries etc. It's why he's let Phillips/Martin go.Fucking hell Grendel Hayes was a kid of 17 last time he had an extended run of games give the bloke a bit of slack. He's had a bit of a run on loan last season and let's see how he fairs now, doubt Mowbray will risk him unless he is ready for what is third division football and
