I'm curious on WHAT BASIS are most fans NOT opposed to SiSU - where has he got his info from?

Generally to prove a point of fact, you either refer to polls, or statistics, Where are these facts that back up his claim?

Certainly from this forum, it is on fairly thin ground to say that most AREN'T opposed to sisu!

Certainly from the limited # of polls generated, that doesn't back his hypothesis either!

So WHERE has he got his facts from? or is it just his own baseless opinion? Certainly it is very dodgy to say as fact that most fans support sisu IMHO!! But I COULD be wrong;)

If it is his belief then its faith and faith alone - fine. Certainly he didn't produce much evidence tonight as I heard it !

I seem to have struck a very sensitive nerve tonight. As for calling me a coward - has HE served his country? I have!

Has HE served in Kuwaut? - I HAVE!

When he has served his country, and seen colleagues die, and friends injured THEN he might have the right to call me a coward. Until then are you Mr Linnell going to retract the implication that I am a coward because I didn't speak to you on the phone? How is that cowardice? Would you Apologise? Somehow I very much doubt it!

Surely my words are written - I cannot say I didn't say them - how is talking on a phone any braver? Perhaps instead of accusing me of being a coward, put YOUR words IN WRITING! you called me a coward on air - that alone is disgraceful from a supposed professional broadcaster with so many years of experience! To dare someone - I stopped daring people when I left school!

I certainly don't have to answer to someone who has never potentially put their life at risk! (or has he served his country as well? - his profile doesn't say so)

Will you apologise for calling me a coward? Will YOU retract THAT statement on air?

Certainly I strongly feel that he is NOT representing the views of the listeners overall!!
Certainly his response to callers / texters who disagree, are dealt with in a dreadful way on occassions IMHO
He has a RIGHT to his opinions - but SO DO THE LISTENERS = and SO DO I !

How DARE he imply that because we don't agree with his view we aren't real fans! To me it was just childish - certainly not the standard of broadcasting I would and should expect from a freelance broadcaster with 43 years (started 1970) experience!

According to wiki Mr Linnell "is a conference moderator and facilitator and he also hosts awards events and black-tie functions" is this correct?

If not I retract a quote from wikipedia!

Lets see if he has the courage to apologise for calling me a coward on air, the same that he felt able to make threats and insult LIVE ON AIR!

DISGRACEFUL

If you don't like insults, don't insult yourself Mr Linnell!

Some good points, well made. I think Mr Linnell only sees the world through blinkers or other dark places.

yep got to agree, I have just listened and it seemed fairly reasonable. Clearly he genuinely feels SISU are not done yet (does anyone else?)

Of course it was reasonable. I do wonder about the intellectual capability of some the people that post on here. Or indeed their ability to listen to what is being said by who!

So most of you agree that Stuart Linnels broadcasting style is ok then? I am talking about his Sunday morning programme now.

99% want new and better owners, but I wouldn't say we are all 100% in the Sisu out - pro ACL camp. And that's the problem this whole saga is being played out as anti-Sisu-pro-ACL vs pro-Sisu-anti-ACL and its not that simple.

And just because you want new owners, doesn't necessarily mean you want rid of Sisu at all cost. There are a lot of grey areas, and a lot of fans waiting to see how this all pans out before choosing sides.

A new broom is needed, the present incumbants can't sort it out.

I normally quite enjoy your comments Colonel, but that one was below the belt.

Not regarding someone who refers to season ticket holders as scum it isn't.

It's a post match footy phone in...not a war crime tribunal.

If you (not anyone in particular) don't like the show...don't listen. If you resent paying your license fee for BBC c&w write a complaint letter.

It should never have become a forum for slagging people off for the opinions (broadcasters and posters equally at fault).

My opinion...I think SL is fair and he has never given me the idea that he supports SISU or ACL more than the other.

SISU out...but I think that's highly unlikely.

But only if they are willing to invest in the playing staff and continue to fund year one year losses though.

SISU won't go till they've got neutral cash flow.. & made the club saleable for a profit. I think they were close to that, admin (now) for them is a setback. Currently they're trying to break (mainly the length) of the rent contract, as I think that makes a difference. I just wish they weren't so bleeding aggressive in the way they chose do it, it leaves a bad taste, the best way is to agree a way forward, but the SISU way is through the courts.

Let's talk about below the belt.

Here pgsm calls Linnell "utterly vile ... almost as bad as Jan ... no intelligence or integrity ... simpering."

Here he calls Old Sky Blue "inherently ignorant" and SISU backers as being deluded.

Here he tells people who disagree with him to "fuck off back to Villa".

Here he tells those who set up a CCFC film night that they are "self-serving tossers".

Here he calls season ticket holders "scum".

Here he calls the 1000+ Sky Blue Trust "conniving ... pathetic ... scumbags"

And here he calls the SBT "fuck nuggets".

Took me two minutes to find those posts - and they are just the recent ones. It should be apparent to all that he's not a pleasant individual, and the only shameful thing would be to give him a free pass because he once served in the military.

Thanks Colonel, it all makes perfect sense now!!

Pgsm has a habit of being ott as those posts show! Shouldnt have accused Linell of anything.

People need to think before posting!

I haven't read through all the posts and I didn't listen to all the show today BUT he should be severly censured for last weekend alone when he clearly nailed his colours to the SISU mast. The questions most City fans...pro Sisu, Anti Sisu, Pro Acl, Anti Acl....wanted answered was where the so called golden share was held and had it been moved and where the feck we were going to play today....those were the questions that were on most fans lips. He didn't feel these questions were worthy of asking and instead went on a one man crusade to get ACL to address an issue which we'd heard the answer to a hundred times. Although I wouldn't go as far as the OP I do not think that SL has acted in any way in a impartial capacity here and has an agenda of his own. Thankfully all but a handful realise he really is barking up the wrong tree. I hope he reads this thread as he is clearly out of touch with the majority of fans.

He shouldn't have accused him of being in SISU's pay, but he was absolutely bang on to accuse him of lacking objectivity. For people to attempt to discredit the poster based on other silly things he has posted is a bit low IMO and those views in no way detract from the crux of his opinions on Linnell. Is Mustard a politician by any chance?

Oh and Nick-he didn't just lack objectivity but was extremely patronising about this site and CCFC fans in general. I'd consult your lawyers if I was you, I think you have a better case than he does!

Why am I not surprised?

Pgsm post regular on here and I enjoy reading his nonsense. He clearly can't string sentences together very well and grammatically he is all over the place, suggesting he lacks intelligence.
Controversial comes to mind. As seen in snippets of his post above, he attacks in a way that would offend most people.

What he and quite a few others on here refuse to accept is everyone has an opinion. You don't have to like it. You certainly don't have to disapprove in the manner you display. As on the football terraces a bit of banter is ok but when you make it highly personal you not only do yourself an injustice but you let down the very forum and it's members by your pathetic actions such as the post that started all this attacking a broadcaster doing his job with personal public insults which received a threat of legal action against you.

Reading the responses on this thread show clearly the usual suspects that are against SISU who generally to side with psgm.
There are those who have bias towards ACL too and a pattern emerges of who will post and support each side.
This tribal like following one way or the other is bias in itself.

Some will form opinions that one is in support of one side when they clearly are not because the reader has not understood what has been said.
But this is a forum and we have I'm sure a cross section of people and varying levels of intellect from all over and we must all respect each other.
The problem I have seen from pgsm lately in his post lack an understanding of the situation surrounding the football club, the owners, the owners role, ACL's role and so on. Far too many ill conceived assumptions based on HIS take on it. His post take on a vision of demanding almost that you should be agreeing with him and you're an idiot if you don't!
There are some very intelligent posters on here and some not so intelligent but they all deserve to be heard and expect reasoned responses.

I'm pleased you represented your country pgsm but what has that remotely got to do with anything?

The beauty of a forum is the anonymity. You never quite know who you might be sharing exchanges with. You may want to show some respect for that pgsm and the people who operate this board. One board a few years back was threatened with it's very existence and one run by the football club was shut down. Anonymity can only protect so far and won't protect anyone from libellous action.

If you feel so strongly still, make sure you call in to the next phone in and make your viewpoint heard, without the personal slander so you are taken seriously.

Ahh yes "rogue gate" many years ago. It's obvious you are intelligent Paxman II and like to hide behind your anonymity as you scare monger.
I'd encourage anyone to google what happened just to see how spiteful some folk become when they can afford to be. Also the official Coventry City forum was taken down because it was pointed out that what was written on there was 10 times worse what was posted on GMK at the time and it made the Person from CCFC who had the solicitors letter sent to a fan look a tad silly.
Personally I've always hated bullies...

The Telegraph report:
"THE fans voiced their anger after seeing their play-off hopes snatched away by having a pop at Coventry City’s owners, reprising their “We want Sisu out” chant 20 minutes in to the game."

Sorry Mr Linnell but your post match analysis even had me the most moderate of thinkers rankled yesterday. I recognise your role is somewhat to play devils advocate and yet increasingly your dialogue appears to favour the SISU camp. Protest all you like using the vehicle of radio you are privileged to work in.
Irrespective of who is to "Blame" for the current debacle and administration, one thing for sure is that on every level, on every promise made by SISU at time of their takeover some 6 years ago they have FAILED.
Mr Linnell yesterday you described that failure as "SISU have made some mistakes"- The data speaks louder than any of us can in a one sided contest with you on the radio holding all of the editorial aces- SISU have totally failed their manifesto pledges, its more than "mistakes"-we are as a club going backwards- it makes their position untenable. They should go.

I have never been in any anti Sisu brigade or anti ACL brigade, so don't think I am speaking from a biased perspective, but do have to say that Linnell has been guilty of a lack of balance.

I don't mind him having his own opinion, that's fine, but as an employee and commentator working for the BBC it is his duty to show balance and that he has simply not done. He has shouted down many a fan who has failed to agree personally with him.

He did the same thing with the Andy Thorn situation. That became very, very embarrassing.

It is not acceptable. The BBC are supposed to show impartiality. Linnell is failing to do that.

Clive Eakin is so much better and I think it is time for Mr. Linnell to take a back seat, otherwise there will be complaints and the Beeb will have to act upon them and he will end up being removed from his seat forcibly I feel.

The programme has become so BBC-like.

I'm pretty sure the post-match phone in is for fans to air their views isn't it? Clive Eakin always allows this to happen with much interruption. Linnell has shot callers down and talked over them. No devil's advocate here, just him keeping banging out the same rhetoric week after week.

Sacked? No. But him taking a back seat would be a very wise move in my opinion.

A "few silly things"?! He's an abusive idiot! People on here are only cheering for him because he managed the two great achievements of slagging both Linnell and SISU off.

Read his previous posts.
