BTA scores once every 4 games, Godden in the championship is 1 in just under 3 games.

we’re throwing stupid money away if we pay anymore than a couple of million for him, I’d rather have that Belgian guy for 1.2m

we need to replace Godden- But BTA isn’t the answer
Godden scored 1 league goal since September last season. First two Championship seasons, he was great for us but now he’s surplus to requirements. In my view, he doesn’t have physical qualities to stay at Championship standard.

I don’t mind lati to be fair hes ok but if he’s second choice right back and/or right Centre back I’d be a little concerned

If we Get Dovin and BTA In then we only really need a CM and one of CB or RB (Latibeaudiere can play both)

Would of course then expect to see Wilson and Godden go permanently, Tavares, Burroughs Howley out on loan. Would leave us with a squad of

GK - Dovin/Collins
RB - MVE/Latibeaudiere or RB
CB - Thomas /Latibeaudiere/CB
CB - Binks / Kitching
LB - Bidwell /DaSilva
CM - Sheaf /Torp
CM - Eccles /CM /Allen
RW - Sakamoto / Rodrigues
LW - Wright / EMC
CAM - Rudoni / Palmer
ST - Simms /BTA

As I say if we can get Dovin and BTA over the line, add the CM and defender of quality, we would have to massively underperform to jot be comfortable top 6 minimum no?

We would still need a Quality Left -Back. Imop.

Godden's still a good finisher, still think with the right team he could get double figures in the Championship, easy but... our system hasn't suited him at all since maybe the first season we came up, so he'll be in the right place for a goal but you won't see much else from him.
Agree with this. It's not as if he ever relied on his pace. For the right Championship side he'd be a bargain but he doesn't fit our way of playing.

Yeah agreed, he’s not suddenly a terrible player but he’s definitely lost some of the (little) pace that he did have and we don’t play in a manner that suits his style of play. A couple of seasons ago he was fine but now we’re playing a less poach-ery sort of game he’s no where near as effective. He’d be great at a Notts County or Fleetwood or Burton, lower league 1 or league 2 team.

Godden will score lots of goals at Lg1 for a good team.

I personally think he’s looked miles off the standard in the championship for season and a half.

Seems like a decent guy and I hope he finds a standard where he plays regularly and scores again as he clearly doesn’t enjoy life as a squad player.

We've agreed a fee with Charlton, so expect things to move quick, Matty wants to go to be closer to home.

Wish him all the best tbh, we don't get promoted without him.

Expect Wilson to go to another championship club to be second fiddle
Does this suggest our forward signing isn't too far away either then?

And Turner said nothing is imminent, hopefully see Goddens replacement in by weekend
