We won’t bring in a LB without one leaving, which is unlikely.

And similarly bringing in a CB and RB would make Lati completely redundant so I don’t see it happening.

I am expecting a striker to come in, probably a centre midfielder and then maybe one other but I think it will be 3 more maximum.

3 maximum? I’m pretty sure that’s the minimum amount of players we’re looking to bring in. That gets our squad to above the 2022/23 levels which Robins has been benchmarking.

As for Lati, he’s either covering CB or RB - he can’t be 2nd choice for both. Again, what happens if MVE gets injured and Thomas is suspended - for arguments sake?

We’re still transition and this process takes time as you say. There’s still gaps squad now that need to be addressed.

It might take time, but equally we’ll be looking to cash in on a number of players reaching their peak value next summer. We need to be giving it a proper go this season.

Well robins disagrees
How do you evidence that ?

When Tats got injured last season we didn’t have cover. We tried Eccles, MVE , Palmer, Tavares all without success as it wasn’t their natural position and Robins kept changing it hoping that one might work.

EMC doesn’t play wide right and it’s not Rudoni preferred position either as he’s left footed.

We certainly have players that can occupy that position in an emergency but none of them are right sided wide midfielders …..

Well in that in an interview he said rodrigues would go straight in to the first team squad

Agreed but that is not the same as saying we now know we have cover in that position. No one, including Robins, yet knows how he will adapt to the challenges of the championship.

Not sure what a true right winger is, but Wright EMC Rudoni Saka Tavares and Rodriguez can all play there. We’ve probably got more depth at RW than any position
Your response confirms your first point. You don’t know what a right winger is.

They'll have a better idea by the end of August. If needed we could bring in a loan at the end of the window.

All of those players have played wide right at some point in their career.

I haven’t counted Burroughs or Dausch who have played there too.

Looks raw as fuck but I'll trust us to get the best out of him.

Just watched his highlights video again.

His first touch doesnt look great at all, and his ball striking looks poor.

Saying that, he does look to be really quick, strong and seems to like carrying the ball.
Some deceptively good dribbling there that looks clumsy but very progressive.
He also seems to have a good IQ, some nice one touch lay offs to team mates and he doesnt look afraid to work hard and run the channel.

Makes sense as a striker for off the bench.

Maybe the rumours are actually true and it will simply be Ntelo and Bernede.

For £1.2m I can understand why we are making the gamble.

A half decent season and someone in Europe will likely offer us £4m+. If he fails then he was a better alternative than tavares and obikwu and we take it on the chin.

Yeah, that's a fair point but his goal scoring form isn't great but only 23, I'd imagine a lot of that 1.2m is add-ons too.

I think we have to accept that hes coming in as a role player. Its unlikely he will start, and a lot of time be coming on near the end.

Like Winny said, there are qualities that will be good in seeing games out, his speed, his aerial battles, his strength, his ability to run channels.

Think it looks a clever pick up, can’t really sign a top class striker and expect them to sit on the bench. Seems a good prospect who could come in when defenders are tired and run em ragged. Also expect robins to work his magic.

Maybe so but he is still cover. Nobody really knows if Dovin is the answer in goal.

Just a reminder that a £1.2 million punt from overseas would have been our big summer signing a couple of years back. Exciting times.. i'm sold on him if the club is. Get him done then get that midfielder in and we're ready to piss it.
Mad to think that’s what we paid for Hamer.

I would imagine this would also lead to Tavares getting a loan move, which is much needed really
