Arsenal end their pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal are reportedly set to end their pursuit of Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres.
The Swedish international has an £86million release clause, and has also been tracked by the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.
According to The Independent, the Gunners are set to turn their attention away from Gyokeres as they believe that his strength and hold-up play does not suit what Mikel Arteta needs in a No. 9.
Arsenal are in the market for a striker who is capable of drifting out wide and running the channels, prompting the club to cool their interest in Ivan Toney and move Newcastle’s Alexander Isak higher up their list of targets.
Strange to say they’re in the market for a striker who does exactly what Vik does

Antoni Kozubal at Lech Poznan is someone the club should keep tabs on. One of the best performers for Lech over the opening weekends of the Ekstraklasa season. Still only 19, only seen him from the highlights of games but has quick feet, good range of passing, calm in possession, wouldn't be ready for the Championship just yet but potentially in a year or two, if I remember I'll give there next game a watch and have a better idea on him.

I've seen enough, get this lad signed up. Intercepts, strong in the tackle, able to receive the ball under pressure, never panics, times his runs into the box well. Shooting needs improving. At 19 he's already performing for one of the best teams in the Ekstraklasa.

Two assists already for Gyokeres tonight in the Portuguese equivalent of the Charity Shield. Meant to be scouts from Arsenal and Liverpool watching.

First assist is immense...

3 assists now I hear. No chance Arsenal have only now just made their mind up that he doesn’t hold up the ball in the way they like - he’ll have been scouted all season!

Tonight is good for us

Darwin Nunez is quality. Online memes don't change that.

Quality and class are not words to decribe Nunez. Both words require a degree of high end consistency that Nunez currently lacks.

He’s dangerous, unpredictable, but capable of the brilliant and the pathetic in the same match.
