Would hope we've moved way past him as a targetI wonder whether Matty James on a 1 year deal might be an option. Don't know where he's at fitness wise but knows the club, would provide leadership, good character and a bit of physicality.

Haha. I thought this wouldn't be welcome. Everyone loves a few million dropped on a foreign unknown signing but I honestly think he actually ticks a few boxes for what we need around the team at the min. Not necessarily a starter but some who could fill in when Sheaf is injured. Maybe start 10-15 games. That suggestion just made me yawn
Problem is Matty James spends most of his time injuredHaha. I thought this wouldn't be welcome. He was a very intelligent short term signing at the time and I think we would have been relegated that season without him. But he is not what we need now.Haha. I thought this wouldn't be welcome. I did want us to sign James after his loan spell but as you say we have moved onHe was a very intelligent short term signing at the time and I think we would have been relegated that season without him. But he is not what we need now.
Would be a very good signing, it seemed like his move abroad was pretty much done and dusted, plus he was at the baggies with BTA so that would help him settle in if we went for himCedric Kipre is still a free agent…
I didn't want us to sign him after the loan. Hamer and Sheaf were better, but we needed his experience short term that season.I did want us to sign James after his loan spell but as you say we have moved on
Ao Tanaka would be my shout from Fortuna Dusseldorf, looks brilliant from the admittedly limited footage I have seen of him. Played against Ipswich last week though, and their fans said he was the best player on the pitch.Find us another Marko Stamenic then @Tea & Busquets
Since your studies are almost concluded. Chop chop.

Signed for Reims in France in July, would have been an excellent signing for us.Cedric Kipre is still a free agent…
Must have missed that, shame.Signed for Reims in France in July, would have been an excellent signing for us.
Weakens a rival but puts them out of the race for Hamer
For who?You can't turn down double figures for ahead of he goes for free next year I don't think.
It's same situation as hamer last year
He’s not out of contract next summerYou can't turn down double figures for ahead of he goes for free next year I don't think.

Sorry thought I was in sheaf threadFor who?
Is he not? Ignore me then. He’s not out of contract next summer
No 2 years leftIs he not? Ignore me then.
And wearing one of the all-time greatest Sky Blue strips. And he was too.
Those that take comfort that if we sell Simms or Sheaf or Wright it doesn’t matter because look how we are now having sold Vik need to understand the principle of diminishing returns.
We had a poor squad with poor quality players and the benefit from selling Vik and Hamer was huge. We reinvested the money to strengthen the entire squad.
However if we were to sell Simms now for £12m for example we would need to spend at least 50%-75% on his replacement not to go backwards which leaves perhaps enough for a full back or a CDM.
We might be marginally stronger as a squad but the big step changes have gone and if you got the Simms replacement wrong you go backwards quickly.
King, Austin and Robins will understand this which makes the next few weeks interesting for sure.
IF Wright is unhappy or Sheaf gets the Premier offer he wants it will be a huge test for the club.
Well Fernando, after the sheaf news you have got my boner instantly raging again.Heard second hand that we're in buying a midfielder who played with MVE previously, though not the usual source for this one. I believe that player must be Madsen.
Maybe similar to Gyokeres we are signing Sheafs replacement before he leavesHeard second hand that we're in buying a midfielder who played with MVE previously, though not the usual source for this one. I believe that player must be Madsen.
