Come on we’ve had 3 windows to get a decent centre mid in and haven’t. It’s pretty poor form to have not recruited one at all in that time who can drive the ball forwards

We have obviously been trying to but deals have fallen through. I get the impression on here sometimes that many just want to see a signing regardless of the merits of the player. If the correct player isn't available don't sign a bad alternative.

Why do we always go down to the wire on deadline day?

Is it because:-

a) We need all the possible time to prise away the players we want?
b) The selling club wants to hold on as long as possible?
c) We want to bank our cash until the last possible minute?
d) We need the first few weeks of the season to establish our needs
e) Other?

Surely we need more than a few hours to sort medicals, submit forms, meet the player, take photos etc
