The funny thing is the diagnosis on here all summer was that the keepers were crap, then the back 4 but nothing about the midfield.

3 league games in and we're in the top half and now it's a crisis because we haven't got a player as good as Sheaf when he's injured.

Tbf I’ve been banging on about our midfield for 2-3 windows now, and the quality in depth is still below average (bar Sheaf) 🤷🏻‍♂️

I find it baffling how some think it would be betwetting to not bring anyone in today.

As it stands we have absolutely no back up for RB (Lati is shite there and is a CB). If Milan gets injured then we are fucked.

In midfield we are severely lacking quality bar Sheaf who is very injury prone. We have also lost 3 people in O’Hare, Palmer and Kelly and replaced them with 1 in Rudoni. This is after we have all said we seem to lack depth in the middle since Hamer went and both games against decent championship opposition our midfield has been completely dominated.

I don’t think it’s strange to be concerned as a fan if we don’t bring anyone else in…

We're trying. These are complex deals, we're not awash with cash. These are significant amounts of money. £3 million is equivalent to 10,000 season tickets. The deal has to be right, and if it's not, we pass.

Individually, no. Collectively as a unit, they get overran, as demonstrated in every game this season bar Oxford.

They've played poorly, it doesn't mean fundamentally they are bad players or can't play together. It's 3 games one of which we won (but that doesn't count). Midfield 3 who had played together in a competitive zero times before the Stoke game but have already been written off.

Are we a club with promotion ambitions or not? The reason we don’t count Oxford is we should be dominating teams like that. I would even argue that there were times in that game we got dominated in the middle.

We miss an engine in the middle with a bit of bite about them, clear as day. None of those 3 have them qualities.

It’s 3 bloody games. We have won 1 drew 1 and lost 1. I have been to all 3 games, and agree we have not played well.
We miss Sheaf, what team wouldn’t ? Let’s see where we are when we are 10 games in,not 3.
