Because we need a better LB
Its Dasilva we need to replace, nothing wrong with Bidwell.

Bidwell offers us experience and he's a cool head in what is a young defence.
Dasilva is a liability defensively and is being targeted by the opposition.

The only way Dasilva offers us anything positive is if we revert to playing 3 at the back with wingback.

That's a great bit of business by Stoke, they seem to be stealing a march on everyone else by getting their business done early, while the rest of the division are on holiday.

They've done exactly the same the last few seasons, with many posters on here envious of their signings, only for them to flop once the season comes round. I guess by law of averages they have to get it right sooner or later!

We need better than both.

If we ever play the back 3 again I will burn my season ticket

Really disappointed about McCallum. I think he is an excellent player with great potential.

Of course it's early days in the summer and I am not normally a negative person but I can't deny I do have nagging doubts about the direction of the club.

Because we potentially missed out on a free transfer in May? Christ.

We nearly signed a €9m Argentine winger literally 4 months ago.

Ha ha, get a grip everyone is on holiday. Only Stoke are doing any business and that shows they are desperate and paying over the odds yet again

Either mental or great satire. Fair play if the latter.

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this comment.

Well that's because he's a non-playing striker or AM.
He's made 3 league appearances all season. As I said, he's not part of Leeds plans.
I actually agree he's the sort of player Robins would get a tune from and a great age still just turned 22

We don't even really know if we were interested , and he's one player we've had and sold before

I see the club going about recruitment very differently to what we seen under previous owners. They try to keep all very quiet and will not get to know of any big signings until they are sure they have any deal over the line.

They will miss out on more they sign but its smart that news doesn't come out. They will have multiple options for each position and will sometimes be the 3rd or 4th option on the list they get. I don't care who they don't get, i care about those who want to come and we sign.

You are joking right?

Nagging doubts - good lord.

I must admit I liked McCallum and he was a big player for us in our promotion season so I’d have liked to see him here
I'm the same. Would definitely have been a good option.

That said, I'm not sure it's a massive problem area. Not sure Stoke will be playing at the top end of the table next year.

They seem like one of those teams that whatever they do they'll underperform and end up changing manager.

People said this about Stoke last season. Take our squad over theirs all day.

I wonder if we are talking to Peterborough about Burrows, I have a gut feeling another one of there players will be joining us this summer.

He looks very overrated to me, and would be a downgrade on Bidwell imo, looks poor defensively and he's poor positionally.

Bosmans are not free. It’s a misconception.

The signing club simply give a huge signing on fee and inflated wages to the player rather than having to give some of that money for the transfer.

if McCallum had been available for £2.5m I doubt we would have the same fan sentiment toward signing him but he will probably cost Stoke at least that ….

Stoke doing “great early transfer business” warning klaxon sounds! Alerta, alerta!

Maybe with McCallum they might make 14th spot their own next season 😂

Exactly this, they had a terrible transfer window last season buying “experienced championship players” - the ones no one else really wanted…

But because they were getting “experienced championship players” people thought it looked great on paper.

I also recall people fawning over Birmingham’s preseason too… It goes to show that, respectfully, us fans do not have a clue. After all, it’s our hobby rather than professional.

What I like about our recruitment is that we’re data driven and open to look at new markets. We may not sign all our first choices, yet you know the recruitment team have done their homework.

It's was more a pondering than anything after their owner said we wanted an option on a player of theirs. I haven't seen a lot of him but the bits I saw of him going forward were good, admittedly I've not seen enough of his defensive side to make a judgement.

Funnily I actually don't think a lot of Birminghams signings were bad but they were horribly managed. Best team they had for a good few years and they finally get relegated with it

Without referring to the relevant threads, there quite a few people saying how well they’d done and they’d be competing for playoffs and so on.

Personally felt a lot of their signings were ‘mid’ considering the sums of money they’d spent. The management situation didn’t help but had their recruitment been that good they shouldn’t have been in the mix really.
