Darren Witcoop from the Daily Mirror saying Marc Leonard has six offers on the table. Uses the #ccfc hashtag as well as the Cardiff one so not sure if he's included us as having an offer on the table...

There is no way we bring in someone on loan to compete with MVE as a starter. Milan is our player and seen by most as probably one of the next that could be sold for stupid money next season. There is zero chance we devalue our asset by dropping him for a loan player.

If we are smart we sign someone with potential that can provide backup and grow into a replacement if/when Milan moves on
Ah you must mean Burroughs?

Would appear Robins calculations are that with Sheaf we are more likely to get promoted, which obviously has greater rewards than an initial cash injection from selling one of our best players.

This forum has been awash with "next season is weaker, we have to capitalize". Robins not bending over and selling one of our main assets would appear to indicate he feels the same.

Even if next season doesn't work out, we still wouldn't lose him on a free as he'd still have a year left. This is the right approach I feel. There's also no guarantees any players we'd bring in from a Sheaf sale would pay off. I know you said its a risk you'd accept, but when we're 90% there with the squad, I don't know why we would.

Very good point, and well put, not much to argue with you there tbh, I think it’s just different viewpoints. I’m of course more than happy to keep Sheaf, I just wonder what we could do with the money if we sold him.

We definitely need a quality keeper, CM or two, CB and ideally a LB upgrade. If Doug doesn’t want to invest of his own cash I find it hard to see how we can afford multiple improvements without selling Sheaf, that’s my only concern with keeping him but he is quality so of course it’s also great having him in the squad.

Hmmm tricky one, lots of nice European ladies out there tbf, I think Europeans probably have better looks overall but it’s obvs easier to talk to British women and all your conversations are more meaningful I suppose? Although I do have a thing for the Dutch and Australian accents 😍

I think it’s easier to say I prefer European footballers to British ones though. Try and emulate what the best teams in the world do, don’t see any reason to do otherwise.
The best teams in the world like Real Madrid, Man City, Bayern who have no British players? Wait…

Really?
he’s not mve is he?

In terms of balance to the team I'm not sure you would want a second MVE.

Bidwell is probably one of the few things I disagree with MR on. He's a pretty steady 6/7 out of 10 every game. He doesn't break down and is our most experienced player now. He's vital in my eyes to a successful push next year. Unless you can replace that (which I think will cost more than it's worth)

Cov fans “ our defence needs an upgrade “

also Cov fans “ I hope we sign Binks, hope we don’t lose MVE and Thomas, I wouldn’t replace Bidwell “

I dont think thats the feeling of most fans. I'd say the majority rate MVE and Bidwell. Most think that despite rocky moments Thomas and Kitching have potential. We lacked depth last year, we didn't have the players to bring in when people were out of form.

its not a case of replacing players its a case of adding to the squad. Binks would be a decent start for the right price. Its pretty obvious we'd still need extra bodies at RB, LB & CB.

I would be concerned about our full back depth if we didn’t enhance those two positions next season

If we're going to take a tilt at autos, which honestly I think we can, then the likes of Bidwell, Allen and Godden need upgrading.
I think a Jake Bidwell is a valuable player in terms of the solid and dependable nature of what he offers, defensively he’s superb, without maybe thr technical attributes of others.

however I do agree he is the only player I would have in the starting eleven of that mould, because ultimately we need real quality if we want to push for promotion

Robins has been trying to replace him for 18 months, we need better.

Would love to see us go out and spend £3m on someone and properly strengthen like we did on the right hand side.

Admittedly it's a slightly less influential position if we're playing a flat four.
Robins has been trying to replace him for 18 months and always goes back to Bidwell, there’s a reason why, you know what you’re going to get.

We need a better all round left back than jay da Silva, to complement the defensive acumen of Bidwell
