I know we had the silly season Doyle rumour…..but if talk of him and Norwich is true, Christ I’d be all over that taking him on loan as left back - absolute rolls Royce that lad - loves club and has close friends here.

Whilst I agree that we have some stability, in comparison to last summer. Attacking wise, we potentially could be very exciting and could be really good.
My concern is that last season we conceded more goals than previously and we are going into this season with essentially the same defenders.
I really hope that the coaching team can address this.

The season before last we were effectively playing a back 8 and relying on the genius of Vik and Gus to scrape us wins .
All the best attacking sides concede , just look at Liverpool and Man City for examples of that . It's the trade off for playing more expansive and I know which one I'd rather watch

I agree regarding the defence. But a lot of goals particularly the last third of the season we wouldn't have conceded with a good Goalkeeper. Not just the obvious howlers, there were plenty of goals where we all felt Collins/Wilson could and perhaps should have done better. A quality keeper not only doesn't concede those but also probably earns us extra points from making crucial saves.

Can't disagree with that much, but also worth noting our 3 CBs are 22,23,24 years old and are (hopefully) still improving and learning.
Between them and Collins there were too many unforced errors which led to goals and cost us lots of points. Some more maturity and maybe a new coaching direction will help.

I do also wonder if we're starting year 2 of the DK 3-4 year plan and they might not have been expecting to have such a promotion challenging team this early on. I'm sure they'd have been hoping, but effectively 12 months on from Vik and Gus I doubt MR was expecting to be in a stronger position, which I think we are.

Keeper looks done. I’m wondering if striker is such a priority. I imagine it will be one role. So it’s Simms to start. You also have Tavares. At a stretch Dausch and Obikwu. But if Simms was out you could slot Wright in with EMC on the left. You could even play EMC through the middle. Another option would be ideal but we’re far from threadbare.

If we get the keeper I am not panicking over any new signings. Another couple would be nice, but it's more about getting the right fit than bodies. Assuming none go out?

A new striker is desperately needed at this point if we’re going to get promoted.

Signing or loan?

Can deffo see Kasey going especially with 1 year left and he doesn't fit into a 433

I'd wager

Palmer
Wilson
Howley

Will be the permanent outgoings

Tavares
Obikwu
Dausch for league loans

Howley won’t be sold. He’ll go out on loan probably to L1/L2 side with caveats in the deal on game time etc or he gets pulled.

Not as straightforward as that. Kelly, O’Hare are outs but we’ve got nothing for them. Rudoni and Binks have cost us cash, as will Dovin.
Well it is if we sign a free transfer using his wages isnt it? Also Kelly and O';Hares wages too. Im not an ITK but ill be staggered if we have to get rid of anyone to be able to sign a striker

Reckon we could loan Obikwu to Peterborough, I’d love him to be an option off the bench for us but maybe they could develop him like they do for all their forwards

I know what you mean but JDS is pretty bad defensively and Bidwell is not the quickest. If you compare our RB side to the LB side it’s night and day.
DaSilva didn't have the best season but there were spells when he played well .
Bidwell isn't slow and is arguably one of our most consistent performers .
There are other areas we need to strengthen before we look at positions with enough cover already
