He must have something lined up as its sounds like he had a conversation few weeks back and was asked to go away to think about it. He came back with he wants out, championship clubs will be in for him and if we are one of them id be over the moon.

Lost gem that would bring quality to our squad but would also being energy and experience. If we want to replace COH stats, Cantwell and Rudoni would do very nicely and would add quality depth. I also think he has spoke well about the club and the fans before. Id take him all day long, could be the right price, age and experience in a position of need. No brainer for me and hope Robins and Doug are all over it
He's be on ridiculous money, no chance he's coming to us. His agent has been pimping him out all over Europe this summer. Chasing the money I reckon.

Not happening and we don't need him.

What about Torp, Rudoni, Andrews, Allen. We’ve plenty of cover there. No need to rush anything

I imagine we’ll be playing a midfield 3 most of the season so that’s Sheaf, Torp/Eccles and Rudoni, which leaves Andrews, Allen and Palmer (plus one of the left-out Eccles/Torp). I don’t believe that Andrews, Allen or Palmer are good enough at this level on a consistent basis, particularly not as impact subs if we’re losing a game.

I don’t think it’s only about the number of players we have to cover a particular position, it’s also about the quality that we can bring on. The cost of signing another player is another discussion but I’m just saying our midfield lacks quality outside of our main starting players.

Yeah don't disagree about him chasing money, unfortunately they generally all are. sure he has something lined up though, otherwise he would sit on his hands taking the pie.. I have always rated him and in my opinion is better than 2 that we currently have in his position. But if its not in our bal park then so be it, im sure Doug would of seen and heard a lot of him at Norwich.

@Saddlebrains I know you revoked your license but you heard any rumours at all? Genuinely don’t mind if it turns out to be a load of bollocks, it’s a conversation starter at the very least and gives us all something to think about.

If its money he will end up with the Arabs if its a football reason to challenge himself its the championship. If its the championship more than a few will be interested to take him.

Ideal rest of the window for me without sacrificing too much depth/funds

Ins - Bernede, Ntelo, Cyrus Christie, experienced defender on loan like Worrall
Out - Burroughs, Dausch, Obikwu, Howley, Collins/Wilson

Is Bernede genuine or just more hot air? Hard to know anymore! Out of reach perhaps?

CC great shout if wages worked. People forget that effectively another RB is second fiddle so that narrows markets.

agree on outs, bar Burroughs id keep him until Jan.

Why are you bothered, you’ll just say that they don’t excite you because they haven’t got a fancy highlights reel or a good rating on fifa 😂

I don’t agree with that on the RB. If we don’t go up, MVE is near the top of the list for players to be sold. Better to have his replacement with us for a year already and prepared to step up immediately.

Surely if Cantwell is to go anywhere in the Championship, it will be back to Norwich.
Technically and through marriage I am related to Cantwell ! He is the son of my late sister in laws cousin ! I was chatting to his dad at my SIL very sad funeral back in March . Can’t imagine he’d be coming here though

Just something to get interested about 😂
Tbf I’m not always negative about signings, I was dead keen on Stamenic, I thought Dovin would be decent, and from last season I loved the look of Van Ewijk, Sakamoto and Wright 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is exactly my thoughts (which some may believe in turn discredits your thoughts, but hey-ho 😂). I know we’ve got Burroughs but for me he’s another one where the jury’s out on whether he’s ready for this level of football yet.

If Van Ewijk gets injured or just simply needs a rest then all we’ve got is Eccles and Lati, I personally don’t think Lati works well at RB as he’s too slow and doesn’t stretch defences enough like Van Ewijk, and although can Eccles do a job there he’s better in midfield and again isn’t one that’s typically attack-minded. Basically, I’m still not convinced we’ve got a team that’s ready to beat the opposition for promotion.

If MR believes that Burroughs will be ready for first choice right back in a year’s time I’m happy to trust him. But BNC has two years in this league already, improved a great deal and getting better with the sort of attributes we want.

If Gyokeres went this window I’d go for it.

BNC? I remember his loan. He wasn't bad, and was solid defensively by the end of the season (playing at RWB) but I just remember his wandering runs where he'd beat 2 or 3 defenders, but end up in the center circle

I bet Mcallum is gutted they have signed a p!ayer in his position for.decent money. Probably thought he would be first choice.
But at least they have decent competition for a position that we are looking to improve with two of our suspected targets ending up there

Improved quite a bit at Millwall.

BNC is still available unless I’m mistaken and he does fit that argument. We also need some kind of succession plan for Simms
He's been a regular in this league for two seasons and is far too good to sit on the bench for a season. Why would he come here as he wouldn't displace MvE?

If we play 433, I have a few questions. Who plays wise left? EMC presumably, but then what about Haji? Same as number 9, Ellis or Haji? Same with number 10. Presumably Rudoni which leaves KP spare. The permutations are mind boggling

Squad rotation. Gives us the chances to keep players fresh, reduce the chance of injuries and also create uncertainty for the opposition about how and who we're going to set up.

We don't have to play all of them at the same time.

Personally, reckon one of Wright or EMC will play RW.

The bigger the name, the more huffy they would get at being left out and may ask to leave but we can't have a repeat of burnout again
