I've seen enough, get this lad signed up. Intercepts, strong in the tackle, able to receive the ball under pressure, never panics, times his runs into the box well. Shooting needs improving. At 19 he's already performing for one of the best teams in the Ekstraklasa.

Another decent showing against a strong side tonight, drifted in and out the game, couple of sloppy moments but overall was pretty good, his midfield partner(Murawski) ran the show tonight.

We have a few options already at the club, Lats and then Eccles or Sakamoto if needed. Move Lats to RB and allows us to bring in an experienced battler of a CB.

It feels like spending money for the sake of it tbh, other areas of the pitch need addressing first before we bring in a bang average RB.
So imagine later on MvE gets an injury that will leave him out for months. Which of those options would you want filling in for him for half a season or more? Every other outfield position we've got at least one option that can fill in to a reasonable degree. MvE we don't.

Besides, if we want our full backs getting forward we need to have options to switch them over/rotate to prevent overload and injuries.

Having said that I'd like BNC back as long as it was loan with a view to perm.

Did anyone follow him much last season at Millwall? I genuinely don’t know if he’s starting to fill out his potential or not. I thought he was alright for us but nothing amazing, if he hasn’t progressed then surely there’s better loans we can look at? Maybe?

(Not saying he hasn’t progressed, just wondered if people thought he was decent or not as I haven’t bothered keeping tabs on him.)

He did pretty well. Also the blokes only 20, to have played as many games as he has at this level at his age is impressive.

Pedro Neto going to Chelsea for £51 million, Neto is a winger but some of that cash could be used on a replacement winger plus Hamer I wonder, I'm sure Wolves were linked with Gus at one point.

Problem for me is, yes Madsen looks good, and of course wouldn't moan about it if we signed him

However

We at some point need to invest in an older head who's proven in this league. That's why I wanted Alan Browne so much

We can't keep getting 'prospects' because by the time they have got the hang of the league and progressing, they've fucked off and we're back to.square 1

I really think we need to focus on a solid championship midfielder. Not as good as Sheaf, but better than Allen

Spot on, we’ve always missed that horrible annoying midfielder that every other team has, fleck or Doyle type, nasty little bastard

I don't care where they come from or how old they are as long as they are the right type of player and are good enough.

I'd rather have a younger, better player from another league than an inferior championship experienced player. That doesn't mean I'd be against an experienced Championship player, they just have to be the best available to us.

The replies on here 🤣🤣

So just going on the last few

We need a Hamer replacement, yeah cause they grow on trees don't they?

We need a nasty bastard , yeah forget we are trying to play an expansive style of play just sign someone who can kick players but not pass the ball

And the best one , " we need to sign someone not as good as Sheaf but better than Allen " 🤣🤣🤣

All based on one game

I didn’t say it’s easy to go out and sign another one. But it’s a fact we’ve struggled to replace what he does.

One of Robins few weaknesses is his inability to throw the bus at it with minutes remaining when losing …. Take a centre half off or take bidwell off a push another attacker through the middle …. Ugly, old skool but sometimes we need to mix it up and be less predictable

Im not sure, realistically who else would you have brought on when we went a goal down. We already played our cards with Wright, BTA, Eccles and Palmer coming on before that anyway, I don’t see what else Robins could have done.

For me today was frustrating, The Everton game albeit Pre Season I thought we looked an exciting outfit, we’ve spent above and beyond again this season and the likes of MVE, Sakamoto, Torp etc having time to bed in you’d think we’d be ready to take this league on and give it a real goal et. Al like Ipswich did last season.

I know it’s the first game of the season, and May next year it might be completely different but fuck me today was deflating.

Still need to sign a CM or two and probably a quality CB. Of course cost is the main issue but we can’t be relying on Allen/Eccles every week or whenever Sheaf is out.

We will get better throughout the season I’m sure, but our transition in midfield is still below par imo. I think Thomas will be decent in time but obvs not his day today, it’s obvious but we need more quality in midfield/defence.

We were not creating anything.

We could have thrown Bobby Thomas up front to create a physical distraction … pushed Wright and Assante through the centre to run in behind …. But instead we largely swapped players on a like for like basis …..

Im not sure. Personally I don’t think we should be relying on pushing Bobby Thomas up front to try knick a point away from home against stoke…who realistically probably won’t be pushing the top end come the end of the season.

If we want to be serious contenders we have to be better than today.

On paper we have enough fire power to beat teams like Stoke every day of the week, I really hope for my sanity we see better performances accross the board from our so called better players.

You can have all the fire power in the world but if your midfield is out hustled they have no supply. We pushed Saka and Emc closer to Simms second half which helped but our crossing and play in and around the box was either casual or inaccurate. We’ll improve with the talent we have but it was frustrating to start in such a casual way

Completely agree, midfield is the area that’s been underwhelming for a little while now. Sorting that out, either through coaching or brining new signings in, is crucial imo.

Today kind of also illustrated that spending on another goalkeeper matters little if what’s in front of him turns in a stinker.
