Yes it is
I also assumed it was 433. But if you look at the average positions for players during the Oxford game it doesn't look that way. Rudoni is actually, on average, more advanced than Simms!

I do wonder how the methodology works here though. For example, we had 14 corners and Rudoni takes them. Would that skew his positional data a bit? He'd be the furthest player forward on the pitch at that point. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Probably in his front room or garden.
He'll have had other people watching games for him.
Just waiting on Dean Austin's WhatsApp messages from Watford (opponents in a few of weeks) to be leaked again!🤣
I’d be amazed if he had the day off so early into the season.

The last I’d heard on that was a fee was agreed and it was down to the player. It would make sense if everything was in place but Vik not moving has put the breaks on.
The least ideal scenario is obviously Vik not moving at all, but also last thing we want is for it to go to the wire as we will have to wait until January to strengthen

Not even sure he’s the type we need, looks more an 8 than 6 perhaps. We need someone to screen in 6 mold firstly.

clearly I’ve not seen enough of him however to really make fair opinion.

There is a consensus, as far as I can see, that we need strengthening in central midfield and central defence. The problem is that both those areas are covered by either recently acquired players or a strong established pairing

All four central defenders have been acquired in the last 15 months, one assumes with Robins' sign off. To acquire a fifth, presumably to be 1st choice implies one or more of those was a mistake and should go. That seems premature

In defensive midfield Sheaf is the obvious first choice but Eccles is as good as we will get as cover.

I was always mystified by the Stamenic thing. Was he to replace Sheaf? For similar reasons I have always been puzzled at the outlay on EMC, unless the expectation is Wright will go and EMC slot in. I don't go for the far too slavish 'In Robins we trust' mantra, but clearly I'm missing something

Was Stamenic just an Invitation to treat , rather than a confirmed offer from us?

To get promoted, which is our aim, you need to be able to bring on quality players and also rest players when there’s fixture congestion without hurting the quality of the starting lineup.

I never understand why some on here want a transfer rumour to discuss even if it's utter bollocks. I hope very much that the first we hear about transfers is when they are done deals .

Absolutely which is why the 2 players in every position is exactly where we need to be. This is why there is the concern of no real cover at RB and I guess the question marks now over Allen. If we get a new CM does Allen then go? I think Burroughs needs to be loaned at now along with Howley. Collins needs to decide to twist or stick as well, long term career vs shorter term wage.

Pretty simple @Gibbo it’s called competition for places and succession planning …

To improve our CB stock we’re going to have to spend 5-6m. If we have that I’d rather spend it on RB. We have 4 CB’s all capable of starting. Do we really need 5?

As to whether the intention was to sell - Sheaf and/or by Stamenic - I cannot speak. But whether we play 4-2-3-1 or a flatter 4-3-3 we will effectively play with a first choice midfield trio of Eccles, Sheaf and Rudoni with Rudoni being the more forward looking of the three. The other 2 will be asked to play a more disciplined DM position.

Personally I see Torp and Allen (and Palmer) as being more suited to cover the Rudoni role with nobody really able to provide like for like cover for the other 2. We struggle when Sheaf is injured and unfortunately that is a regular occurrence. For me DM was the main position we needed to strengthen this summer. If we had signed Stamenic and sold Sheaf we would still have needed another 1.

But the drop off after Milan is probably the biggest of any position. Hence the need.
Whilst this might be true, it's partly because MVE is one of our best players, and one of the best RB in the league. Personally I think Lati is fine there as cover and I honestly think Eccles had done a great job at RB in the past too. CM is where we are lightest IMO and could do with another player there to give us the depth across the squad/ positions we need.

A cover RB for me would be an added bonus but that's after a DM and experienced CB have been sorted, we need a Bernede and a Worrall type player signed, would the perfect end to a cracking summer window if both them came in, wishful thinking I know however if we pulled that off then we'd have a squad capable of being in that top 2.
