Is McNally supremely better than Thomas & Kitching? I'd say not (metrics may tell me otherwise), and was probably helped by our defensive formation at the time, with Fadz as leader.

No. McNally is a decent CB at this level but he wouldn't improve our defence. He's not great on the ball and I'd say he works better in a three rather than a flat back four. He was pretty poor by all accounts last season for Stoke.

I think we had the chance or he had the chance to come last summer and it didn't happen. I hope our recruiting dept are not working off old lists or sitting wondering who's out there, because if they are i suggest that Doug needs to ask serious questions.

I would think we need a few more out before bringing in bodies for the sake of depth. Burroughs has gone out for this reason . We need improvements on what we have, Its quality we need and sometimes it takes longer to get those deals done.

Obikwu, Howley and Collins will be out soon which could mean, wel see a quality signing come in to add to the 1st team squad.

I was a huge fan of his. Has pace, strength and very good in the air. Slightly concerning that Burnley don't appear to rate him though.
He's a decent defender but he's not great on the ball. That's what's holding him back. He got away with it in a 3 but there's more responsibility in a 2

Our defence is ok and plenty good enough for top 6.
Of course it could be improved with new (better) players but the goals conceded so far are not through a lack of ability, we just need our defence worked on by the coaches and our best combination to be allowed to settle in together.

I know I have a season ticket in Pessimists’ Corner at Bedwetters Utd but not sure it’s been a great window so far. I really like the Dovin and Rudoni signings, EMC too early to call and Rapha could be anything but other than that I don’t think it’s been stellar.

I think we’ll make top half for sure but imo it’s probably 50:50 if we make top 6 with the current team.

I swear some of you lot think we're in a far far harder league than we actually are. The squad should make top 6, if it doesn't I'd suggest Robins might have some questions to answer.
I'd like a couple more signings for sure to help get us through and maybe even have an eye on top 2. I think we'll see them.

All of the squad also have another years experience in this division. If we dont make the top 6 i genuinely think Robins could be in trouble. Not my personal choice but he will be under pressure from above

it's consistency that's key. Stoke beat us because we were shite, stoke then got absolutely battered away at Watford

We know we're good enough for top 6, we have to be consistent and that means individual players and as a team are on the top of their game.

Anyone can turn up and get turned over (Look at Sheff Wed 4-0 winners then 0-4 losers)

We were reportedly interested in Andrian Kraev and Illay Camara a few weeks ago but it all seems to have gone quiet on both fronts.

It seemed at one point that Camara would go to Standard Liege or PNE but as far as I can see he hasn’t moved yet. I can’t find any updates about a move for Kraev.

I wonder if there is still any chance that we might sign either or both of them. I particularly like the sound of Camara.

Kraev joined Casa Pia in the Portuguese league.

Not sure this is going anywhere sadly. Peterborough seemingly are playing hard ball and don’t want him going anywhere
Can’t say I am to bothered the bits I have seen of him he wouldn’t improve us much and Peterborough always want loads of money.

The only team that currently look world beaters are Burnley. Lets stop panicking, there are supposed bigger teams in this league with greater squad issues than us, take Leeds as an example, QPR were tipped to go down and they came back from 2 down at Sheffield UTD who are tipped for autos. This squad will make top 6 if we play a settled pair of centre-halves rather than rotate in that position. If we do get a CDM before the window closes that strengthens us in front of them so no need for panic. Across the back as it stands the issue is right back not centre half. Stop being bedwetters people FFS.
