He's stating I know nothing about player fitness, why aren't I allowed to question him about his knowledge? Do I just have to take the grief because of my opinion?

Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course but you appear to have no intention whatsoever to embrace anything another poster offers by way of explanation

Maybe we're going to adopt a 4-4-2, I'd like to see it: -

Dovin
MVE - Thomas - Binks - Bidwell
Saka - Sheaf - Rudoni - Wright
Bassette - Simms

I reckon Bassette was brought in to play regularly, so maybe we purchased BTA because he was available for a good price, and we weren't sure we could get other options over the line in time (Bassette for example). Personally, don't see the problem with having depth, as it's up to the individual players to prove they're good enough to start.

IF we go 4-4-2 surely the main reason for doing that is to get our 3 most expensive players on the pitch? i.e. :

Dovin
MVE - Thomas - Kitching - Bidwell
Saka - Sheaf - Rudoni - EMC
Simms - Wright

Not sure how Sheaf/Rudoni would work as a CM pair but otherwise that's a strong looking 11. Good cover up front with BTA/Bassette, not so sure in wide midfield?

Yeah. I just think it's interesting that if you set the team up as a 4-4-2, you have strong backup in every position - except RB.

And you do?
No but i actually listened to Robins tell us players were tired last year. You seem intent on flogging them to death because they are our best players. You seem to have an issue being pulled up on a different opinion but dont seem to like it when its explained to you why your opinion is not that great.

Far from needy. I barely post on here, and I've not once posted anything I've heard on Twitter.
I said right from the beginning I shouldn't have let BTA's name slip, and that I wouldn't do it again.
Look what happened, it was copied on to Twitter by 'George Smith' within a couple of hours. People like that are your needy kind.

That's not what the club want, and I respect that. I respect my source too.
Like I said last night, things are happening, so people shouldn't be worried.
Then we got a new signing. It's good when it's a surprise. Like many other fans, i prefer that.
I'm always happy to talk football and where our club is headed. I think we've had a great window, so far.

What? Why are you answering the question that was very obviously directed at people who can’t go 10 minutes without little snippets of transfer news and literally begging anyone who comes across as “ITK” for any information?

It’s so clingy and needy.

My apologies. I read it as you were asking for names / positions, and calling me needy for not giving them out. Completely misread your comment.

Times really are changing. Until 5/6 years ago you could safely take the easy, "Ah he'll/we'll/they'll be absolute dogshit and will contribute to our snowballing demise" and not be far wrong, such was the rot that had set in and the predictability that followed. It was easy to soothsay our pitifulness. It was tough and a touch naive to be optimistic in those dark days. It's not like that anymore...it's still easy to predict someone/some combination will be bogus before they've started and "worry", but as has been shown season upon season now, we are a properly run club, lead by a real-deal manager who loves us. Some of the Simms and Wright threads from early last season as well as the old flog liability Hamer for £5 mill early the year before are examples of hastiness. We need to embraaace the chaaange maaan...it's tough to believe I guess, when you've been abused so long, that you truly are on the sunny side of the street - but that's where we are folks. Enjoy the fucker (y)

Why are a lot of us bothered whether we need Bassette? Why are we bothered whether he’ll start/be “kept happy”. And why are we trying to envisage how our squad fits into eleven spaces. It’s a squad. Robins will know full well what he needs. I guarantee you if King had said to him “you can have Bassette but if you do you can forget your midfielder” Bassette wouldn’t be here.

I 100% welcome the signing of Bassette, he looks to have some great qualities from what little I've seen on line today.

We need to remember that signing another CF doesn't stop us from signing a CH or DCM or RB, between now and the end of the window.

I'm just hoping that the arrival of Bassette doesn't mean we're about to sell one of our other high value assets.

I think it's more wondering how it affects the budget when we've got more pressing squad needs.

I'm hoping that it shows there is still money available to fill this quite obvious holes, but I can't blame people for wondering if we've pulled the trigger on this as it became a goer and the long term VFM looks good, but short term will it affect who/how many of those other needs we can bring in as you can only spend the £ once?

Spot on.

We are building a squad, zero chance we have prioritized Bassette over midfielders or defender. We saw value and made our move. Totally happy with this approach

More minutes for BTA means less minutes for Simms, who is one of the best strikers in the league.
Well to be fair , asante had played 47 minutes in the championship for us .. he also scored a whopping 2 goals in the league less than Simms last season

Is the whole point of a forum not to discuss the team and topics like whether a signing is good, how they'll fit in to the team, what our squad is looking like, etc?

TBF, it's fun to speculate how the squad will fit into 11 spaces.
