DK needs to scrap his no loan policy or I fear we will be in the same boat again come January 31st. I completely agree it’s not worth wasting money on transfer fees if a player is not adding quality to the squad, but we have left a gaping hole in that midfield now
Many say it’s about quality not quantity which I do broadly agree with, however just in pure numbers, our midfield is a problem. We do need more to support fitness and reduce pressure on others.

Rudoni has yet to prove himself- and let’s remember, was part of a midfield relegated from this division, with the fans of that team glad to be shot of him…

Can't decide if @Saddlebrains is going to explode because he was right about no signing, or explode because there's no signing.

Either way, someone needs to clean his bodily fluids off his laptop screen.

Last season it felt like our promotion hopes went up in smoke as soon as the news broke that Peterborough had asked for Mason Clark back on deadline day. Everyone knew we were wafer thin in the wide areas. Feels very similar now in midfield. Especially given the first few games in Sheaf's absence have shown we have been so poor in that area without him.

how gives a flying fuck what huddersfield fans think, surely we have learnt not to take any notice of what a former teams fans on twitter say

swansea fans laughed when we paid a fee for vik

Just because i’ve seen Watford fans demanding it on twitter all day

let’s just throw some money to sign free agent Etienne Capoue until January

The signings we've made over the summer seem decent enough to give the squad depth, but at the same time it feels a missed opportunity as the one gaping whole in our squad, which we already knew about and has been exposed hugely in the start to this season, of a CM is still eluding us.

OK, we looked to have it sorted with Stamenic only to get gazumped, and chasing him supposedly led to us missing out on Brown which is extremely unfortunate to have both those things happen.

But that was a little while ago and there must have been other targets. Even though it wasn't successful last year even taking a late punt on a loan would have been preferable as the midfield needs something extra, especially as we're also one man lighter with Palmer going.

Still also relying on MvE remaining fit as none of the other options are good enough to fill in, especially to cover injury. Another thing we've known about for some time yet failed to address.

to be fair our midfield has a problem in terms of both quantity AND quality
Get what you are saying, but that feels slightly harsh. Have time for most of our midfield, with the exception of Allen (and even he isn’t bad as a sub 15 mins from time). The key problem is the depth which really exposes the rest.

Oh well fuck it, on to tomorrow now. Is what it is. Midfield has to improve, over to the coaching staff now to see what they’re really made of.

Putting my optimist hat on for a moment.

Relatively speaking, our window has been decent compared to other teams in the division.

Nobody has thrown mass amounts of money around and built a team that's going to run away with it. In fact those that came down have either lost players or are looking all over the place.

We haven't lost any of our big players, so we are in a decent position.

1/2 additions and we go from having a decent chance of playoffs to being pretty much nailed on with an outside chance of autos. Yet for some reason not only have we failed to add bodies where needed, but weakened ourselves by letting KP go. We are on the back of a season where MR constantly complained about fatigue and strength in depth, and we've made it worse!

Barring a miracle of Sheaf staying fit all season I just can't see anything other than falling short again

Which is incredibly disappointing given the great additions we've made up front.

Not getting a cm. In fact, somehow ending the day with less than we started despite being in need of one.
Perhaps that’s his/his recruitment team’s fault?

He sanctioned signing Bassette and BTA so clearly there was funds for a signing. If we’ve gone off chasing players who have no interest in joining us, that isn’t DK’s fault.

We had £4m earmarked for Stamenic so funds were there.
