That's a small amount , it's not quite the same as boro yet

This was remaining ticket sales a week before the Boro game. Near identical to where we are now IMG_1307.jpeg

I’m not convinced that the pricing is impacting attendances outside of individual circumstances/anecdotes to be honest. Realistically, how many more people would come to games?

At 18,500 ST holders, the lowest attendance we’ll see this season will be 19-20,000? Our season ticket pricing was reasonable and selling these out is proof of that.

The gripe isnt about season ticket pricing though, or adult match day prices. It's about £25 for a child

We'd already opened blocks by the away fans too

But we hadn’t opened up all of block 25, which we have now.
All we’ve done is open block 25 instead of 4&5. It’s roughly the same amount of tickets

Kids pricing is far too dear , sunderland will probably sell out but are struggling should be a testament to that .. I don't know what else there is to say , could easily be 28000 there Saturday if the prices weren't wank

No, we opened block 27 and blocks 4 and 5 on the Saturday, one week before the game. None of those blocks opened yet.

No we didn’t.

This image is from the Sunday before and block 27 was still closed IMG_1307.jpeg

OK let's say we sell the same as we did as a game on sky .. doesnt mean we couldnt have sold alot more , and that kids ticket prices aren't still absolutely disgraceful, what are you trying to say with this? That we've sold the same as a game that was on sky ? Whoopiedoo

All I’m trying to say is ticket sales are similar to the Boro game.
I’m not getting into it anymore than that

Fair enough , boro was a 12:30 on sky opening home game of the season.

Kids prices are still too expensive and sunderlands tickets have gone to general sale , which is quite a shock for them

There is no chance there will be more home fans for the Sunderland game than the Boro game, it will be less and like you say, should be a lot more given it's not televised.

These prices are biting, but people still trying to argue they are not, so going round in circles. Club have made an error here but can't do anything about it until next season anyway so nothing anyone can do so guess we've just got to roll with it.

So what you're saying is sunderland would be struggling to sell out anyway ?

A team that comfortably sell out before general almost everywhere

How does that impact revenue? If the revenue was higher with the rip off prices, with less attendance, then the club has achieved what it set out to.

I do feel for away fans on this because they don’t have cheaper bulk alternatives to go on.

The pricing, in fairness, seems to assumes that the only people who go to football games are full paying adults or adults masquerading as youths/concessions.

Better to judge it after Saturday. Hopefully if numbers aren’t what they should be the club will listen and make changes. As discussed main issue is with kids prices*. easy to amend and if it only ends up affecting Sunderland not the end of the world

*didn’t realise JSB U14s are £15 which is better than I thought. As a minimum they should offer this price for Cat A aways though

If we’ve capped them at 18,500, would that have changed? Perhaps we would’ve sold out the PL packages and the 18,500 sooner.
We haven’t really capped them, the club said they were to generate a few more season ticket sales but I’m I can tell you now they would have sold more near up to capacity if there was a demand. I reckon about 24k for this game. If revenue is up or down on selling less but dearer only the club will know.

Plenty off grounds have family sections next to away fans without issue including Leicester a few weeks ago.
It seems its only our police and stewards who treat every game as though its bocage juniors v river plate
Whilst I agree with your point on policing and stewarding, Leicester's family section was not next to us away fans, its 3 blocks away in the opposite corner

OK. I stand corrected on that. Someone told me it was.
I was pretty much in the middle of the away end so couldn't really see who was next to us.

The pricing is terrible , I couldn't give a shiny hoop about revenues , I'm a customer not a financial advisor

Whether you agree with this pricing or not, you should care about revenues.

The business has to be sustainable

You should. So why have we ended up with King of Shaves as the main shirt sponsor on what will presumably be mates rates?
Probably, cant knock him for trying to get as much as he can though he’s a business man and got good amounts for vik and Hamer.

Forest or Chelsea also have no sponsor yet as they are trying to get as much as they can.

I don't care for the club charging 25 pounds for kids , end of story really

Fine, but if that’s all you care about we’ll be back in 2013 before you know it.

Everyone has an opinion on what the club should be charging. I’ve not seen one comment about how to otherwise generate income.

So you think we need to charge kids 25 quid to stop us struggling financially?

Righto

How do you generate income in 15 years when everyone is doing something else because you priced them outfit when they were a kid?

King is getting a lot right commercially and the club are clearly increasing revenue but I can't agree with him on this

No, what I am saying is if you did reduce kids prices you’d either have to replace that income from elsewhere (where?) or cut expenditure

That’s a perfectly reasonable argument.

However, you have to acknowledge the income needs to come from somewhere. So if not from kid’s tickets, from where?

It can come from kids tickets, just not as much.
Remember, it an adult refuses to go because of the price for taking a child we lose another £37.

Make under 10s a flat £10
11 to 16 a flat £15
16-18 a flat £25 .

Do away with the categories

Categorise adults as they are

Means a dad can take his 15 year old and 9 year old to coventry v sunderland for £62 instead of the current £87
