Unfortunately missed most of this game (cry) due to “Christmas shit” but I’m just wondering what happened to Sheaf for him to come off at 42 mins? Did Lati play at CM instead of Sheaf when he came on? Was he any good? Just thought Lati may be a good Sheaf replacement for when we need him but just wondering how he got on.
Sheaf came off because of an injury (bad cut to his head) and Eccles came on for him. Lati came on for Allen after the second goal.

Have to agree with this...can't say he looks much of an upgrade save-wise (if at all).
His kicking is a worry though.
At least once every match, he miskicks a pass straight to an opposition striker/attacking midfielder.
We haven't been punished for one of theses miskicks YET.

Listen to Robins comments on that, he wants him to be trying to find players in midfield and accepts you will sometimes give the ball away.

When we boot it long we give it away almost 100% of the time but no one complains about that.

Yeah, because it’s much further from our goal.

Both are usually around half way.

Its the same as people complaining about us passing out from the back instead of lumping it clear. Robins won’t be too bothered.
Are they? Looks often like it’s given away half way inside our own half.

Don't get the Wright comment.
Thought he put a shift in, was heavily involved in the goals including fighting off o'nein who was trying to wrestle him to the ground in the build up to the first.
Would have been easy for him to stay on the deck and take the free kick.
By staying on his feet and keeping going he swung the game in our favour.

And when we go short, by the time we reach the point that a long kick reaches, we have usually lost the ball anyway, so there is no actual difference. Playing from the back is also very predictable and easy to counter. It only works imho if the goalkeeper releases very quickly catching the opposition too far forward. See Liverpool. Collins and Wilson take an age.

We play counter attacking football. The aim is to beat the press and take players out of the game.
