With the pressure being off us and the pressure on Sunderland (I notice on their forum they're on the manager's back already), I think if we stop them scoring early we could get something.

That said, we'll miss Bayliss greatly.

Yes, we will miss Bayliss!......
Re Bayliss though, depends on severity of break. A light cast may be sufficient and we may see him available for Saturday. Remember, they get looked after a bit better than we do! .... a week maybe just too soon though......Same with Meyler - "popping the AC joint" is not as bad as a dislocation but carries ligament damage i think. Usually about 6 weeks for the average joe... not sure if a painkilling injection may allow game time if desperate??

Also, how on earth are they the managers back!?? Haven't they just won both games straight after their CT defeat?? Shows how high expectations are I guess...
But with their budget, and Cattermole reportedly on circa 60K P/W (More than budget for our whole squad)...they should absolutely walk this division.
Not going up this year would be a disaster!

Am I the only one who has a sneaky feeling we'll turn Sunderland over then win the rest of our games, sneaking under the wire into 6th on the last minute of the last day???

There was a thread after the FLT final where they were calling for his head. They expect automatic promotion, I really hope we can put a dent in it, much rather Barnsley go up.

Struggling to see how we will miss Bayliss on the form he’s been on, if it was the driving force of Bayliss we seen last year I’d 100% agree. He’s not replicated anywhere near that form this season and even more so over the last three months he’s been out the game more than ever

The rest will do his career the world of good and come back fresh for preseason then hopefully see the exciting talent we’ve seen emerging last season have a greater impact on the side for the benefit of a season adapting to the level.

We will miss him if only because there is no one if any quality to replace him

Westbrooke will step in and do a good job. I’ve no fear on that.

He is nowhere near as capable as Baylis even on a bad day

Honestly, I don't know what game you're watching. I see Bayliss and I see somebody who is one of the best players on the pitch. Some sloppy passing doesn't detract from some of his better passing and his ability to get us moving up the pitch.

Slightly different in style of play but I’d dispute that he’s not anywhere near as capable. Think it’s a bit rash to suggest he’s not up to it.

Bayliss who is a talent and if continues to develop in first team football will achieve a good career in the game but has had more bad days than average over the past few months.

Totally agree he’s got a lot of talent that will develop into a championship player as a minimum.

But he’s not been driving with the ball at his feet often, and becoming less and less over the weeks. The passing I don’t focus too much on as that can happen to anyone.

His off the ball work was improved yesterday and spotted danger well at one point dropping into cover Mason to prevent JCH exploiting space but too often he’s not looked confident to claim the ball and pick a pass or drive as we know he can.

Too much lately he’s allowed the game to bypass him when if he wanted the ball and used that ability he’d make the difference more often.

Let's go up there, no pressure, let the lads go, and see what happens. We'll either nick it or get tonked about 5-0

Anyone know if we've sold out yet?? Everyone was complaining about us not getting more than the 3k

Can't see us getting anything at Sunderland to be honest, if we come away with a point it would be great.

Seems like we can add Bayliss to the long list of Coventry players that some fans like to constantly criticise that will undoubtedly go on to play at a much higher level while we think 'Wish we still had Bayliss...'

You know we can pull up a player or highlight it’s not happening for a player who’s got stacks of ability to develop thats been going missing in games or not quite doing enough without staying they are shit.

I promise you it’s ok without the tinted glasses.

You can, but you have been unnecessarily critical of one of our best players for too long. He makes things happen, he tries to beat men, he plays threaded passes. In that kind of role you will make mistakes and look culpable at times. Has he been a bit on and off this season, probably yes. But he has still been one of our better players and "Struggling to see how we will miss Bayliss on the form he’s been on" is ridiculously over the top. Who else do we have who can drive forward from deep in midfield?

Unnecessary? Ok. Do you honestly think he’s been on form or anywhere near it for the past few months if your honest?

For me he is he’s not and many have seen this in previous match ratings. Ive also gone on record to say I think a lot of the reason he’s not is because he’s physically and mentally fatigued from playing a hell of a lot of football for us first year in the senior game with our extended season last year onto the under 19’s championship and staring back into preseason being near ever present.

Mistakes I can accept from him driving forwards and being dispossessed as that’s the nature of the role he’s asked to play, but the driving runs we’re becoming less frequent added to the want to receive the ball deep in his own half so not making things happen hence the game passing him by more and more frequently.

So if your star man isn’t doing what we know a fully fit Tom Bayliss can do you not missing them runs to begin with so your not missing him on the form he’s been on.

I’m a fan of him and his ability but it’s not happening for him so I’ve highlighted it. Not in a malicious way, like some do at Shipley or Bakayoko or Hiwula previously.

Just because he’s our own and was phenomenal last year doesn’t make him exempt for constructive criticism

Bayliss has had a pretty uninspiring season overall but in the last month he has been absolutely dreadful.

Anyone who can honestly come forwards and say he's been anything other than that needs to watch him for a full 90 minutes and re-evaluate.

I hate having to keep making the same point but there are a contingent of our fans that just don't seem to be able to see anything other than the sun shining out of his arse permanently.

For the record the players will be on the beach now, so I expect us to be fairly easy pickings for Sunderland.

On his day he absolutely can. But like a good few in our youngster heavy squad the season has caught up with him. Poor in possession, sloppy fouls given away and some real hospital passes thrown in the mix. The team has carried him in recent games and the time out will do him good.

Fancy us for a draw. I think we will miss Bayliss though. WIsh I could make it (to watch the game, not to replace Baylis!)

If we do win at Sunderland we will probably follow it up by failing to beat Bradford!
