Be great at burton next year
I’m frustrated and my son is gonna miss going next season. What's the point in comments like that?

Hopefully Pete, they will do a similar experience next year, as the club will have to go for even more PR.
So, you should get to meet manager, players and have a kick around.
(Thanks Nick for trying to keep the thread positive).

Gosh. Let’s see what Somerset thinks shall we! You haven’t got to jump on everyone and everything that doesn’t fit with your opinion on things. Life isn’t as easy for everyone to drop everything and go to watch coventry city in burton or Walsall.
Sorry Somerset if I annoyed you saying what I did. I’m sure you understand
You were quick there as I deleted it as soon as I saw Somerset’s reply. I will add my lad is 12 and absolutely understands the politics of not being able to watch his football club in his city. They may be young nick they are not stupid!!Weren't you the one jumping on a thread saying how great the Mascot Experience was?
To a kid, it still would be whereever. The politics don't matter to them, they will be in the changing rooms with their favourite players and be treated like a "mini player" for the day.

It’s not just about football nick. It’s anout shared experience, memories, generations of families having a joint activity. Don’t be naive. It’s absolutely important to discuss the wider issues with him. I’m not a shouty anti this or anti that but I am a person that believes you take a stand to do all you can to make sure things that are right and proper happenIt depends what they are seeing doesn't it? If you want to drum stuff into him and drag him along to pointless sit ins amongst shouty people then he will follow it on, if you just try to keep it about football for him then he will see the football side.

Yep just as easy as that. It’s nothinh like forcing a child to follow a vegan diet. What is being naive about it?
If you want to bring politics into things then it will rub off on the kids. It's like when my daughter was friends with a kid who had it forced on him that he was vegan from a young age so he was adamant he was. He had no idea what it was and why though.
If your son is 12 and wants to go and watch CCFC, let him go and watch CCFC still.

It’s naive to think a 12 year old doesn’t have an opinion on things wilder than just enjoying the football
You’re missing the point but it’s probably cause I’m not making it well. My family will not be able to go. Our football club should play in CoventryIt's naive to think you taking him to sit ins with a load of ranty people and drumming things into him doesn't have any influence.
My daughter is 9, she has opinions on lots of things and is way more intelligent than her age. If she wanted to go and watch football then she would just come with me.

Pretty sure it will be the same experience wherever we end up. Might annoy the parents but most kids who get taken to games by the parents aren't going to be concerned about the politics of stadium issues.Be great at burton next year
Doesn’t completely. I haven’t asked him if he’d want to stop doing parkrun and chess on Saturday and have no time for anything other than football yet. I have a pretty healthy relationship with him and he can speak his mind and give his opinionStrange it seems to mirror yours
Completely agree but time is something that can’t be replaced of courseSo if it's physically impossible for you to go but you want to, if it happens then this is the sort of thing you should put to the club as you would be the exact people they should be trying to help with coaches / assistance etc.
Not sure who your kids were Somerset, but I often watch them having a kick about as right in front of us in block 2, if yours had "Louis 6" on his back then you have a player on your hands. Only small but looked really well balanced and good feet, hopefully the academy watch them.Hello all,
Kids were mascots today and they had a great time - club, manager, players and staff were all friendly and pleasant. Special shout out to Chaplin - we'd forgotten our sharpy to sign a t-shirt and he overheard us, so hehe rummag around in his kit bag and lent one. Really put a smile on their faces! As ever, grimmer was great and a pleasure to talk to. Fully recommend this if the opportunity arises next year.
Shame we didn't get the win but certainly securing the long term support!
Thanks Rob - yes that is my son (daughter enjoyed it too)! He trains with the Yeovil development side - I've just repeated your comments and he looks really chuffed! I'm taking him to the sbitc Easter course next week, which he will enjoy too!

Do you think they will allow someone in their 40s?I'd have loved one of those courses as a kidFull week of football then the players turn up!
Don't think they would let somebody in their 30's join in now though
Did you see the guy on his stag do in Lincoln? They made him a mascot for the game lol he was 34 I thinkI'd have loved one of those courses as a kidFull week of football then the players turn up!

Especially not one with a penchant for an early doors 'reducer'!
Pleased for you and your son. Only negative is that I know Rob and he knows nothing about football (only joking one and all- wish I was 6 again and had my footy playing days ahead of me still!)Thanks Rob - yes that is my son (daughter enjoyed it too)!
